UK based Amazon affiliates, how do you get paid from the USA program?

So, a few weeks back I received my first cheque from the US amazon affiliate program, which was for $228. I set up a business account with HSBC and paid the cheque in a little over a week ago. I got home from a conference last night to find a letter from HSBC returning the cheque, saying that processing the cheque would cost more than the value of the cheque. Are there any other UK based affiliates who have been able to pay the cheques in with no issues with another bank? Or is there a better way to receive payment from the US?

Payoneer if you want cash or Amazon voucher codes if you travel and shop there.

I normally pay less than £10 for the processing fee, WTF is up with HSBC, get an account with TSB instead.
Your only supposed to use direct deposit if you are a US resident. So there is a risk involved.

With my first cheques I paid them into First Direct (a subsidiary of HSBC) at a HSBC branch for a flat fee of £7 each time. Never had a problem. Now I use Payoneer.

Try paying it into a personal account. Go to your bank's website, it will explain all about fees on there.
