Two Way Link Building Harmful?

Hello,

Someone just emailed me that 2 way links are considered spam as per googles latest update.

WTF!! I really do not think I heard anything. I am not the master at SEO, but do consider myself well aware of the SEO practice.

I am sure he got the information from some BS person trying to act smart.

Can someone please let me know if 2 way links are actually considered SPAM.

I believe a company should go for all 1 way, 2 way and 3 way link building. And the focus should definitely be on 1 way link building.

I don't think they have any negative value, but they are worth very little, but some no doubt.
