This happens alot with various different providers, i used aminserve in the past because they accepted crypto payments and this happened constantly.. i logged in to discover someone had bitcoin miners installed there, retarded move itself to install any miners to computers or on servers but many providers share the accesses.. when i contacted them they just said that i can clean it up and change password/reset the server and i should be okay.. the thing is, these so called "resets" happened too often and you always lost everything.

This is not a service provider fault. (Just for info)
This is Windows OS which is being targeted hardly these days by Ransomware (or Similar).

As a Service provider, I am saying that it is normal these days. There are some security steps the subscriber should follow to be protected. (Maybe not 100%).

SO if a Server get compromised and the subscriber starts blaming the provider, That would be a lame move.

And they think that 'having a long hard password" would save them. That is funny. They should know first how many ways there are to get a server compromised. They don't need to know your 100-miles long password, honestly.

Thats solely provider fault and nobody else, they should clean up their servers before selling them, i dont know anything about you but aminserve does very poor job handling the issue. No client should know advanced security measures, common sense applies but its the providers task to inform their clients with special directions/instructions about the threats or/and possible data loss, which most of them do not.. as OP was not informed with his provider, nor was I and it looks to me it creates a lot of confusion with other people as well.

Even a clean installed Server can be infected before reaching to the new subscriber. DO you know this? And this started after the recent Ransomware attack.

Also, If you want to have everything pre-configured, I think you should subscribe to the managed ones.

A computer or Laptop company will not prevent you getting attacked by viruses, You have to know how you can be secured and follow the steps. (Example)

Also, If the OP already contacted to Turnkeyinternet, let us wait and see the conversation screenshots.

    Thanks

We'll see and wait, but my personal issues date back to early-to-mid 2016 and these issues where there so I dont know anything about the recent ransomware attacks.

Yeah hackers hack into VPS, place their websites there and in the meantime checking their Yahoo mail. Are you for real?

SO it is TurnKey who did it? :)

What they were doing is another story. The main thing was that the server got compromised.

He is probably referring that the hackers just resell the servers, there are a lot of sites where people do that.. Look it up xDedic for example. So the end user will just buy an hacked VPS or an VPS that is resold.

Did you mean TurnkeyInternet was selling hacked Servers or VPS? :) Just wondering to know more.

I think you meant That the hacker hacked this server and sold to another user. If so, that is fine :)

No, there are two options, either the TurnkeyInternet sells shared accesses or does some other shady stuff or these are hacked by someone else and sold on xDedic or any similar marketplace.
The fact is, these providers do a poor job either way, not informing their clients with the issues the service currently has and without giving directions how to act, its bad for their business to stomp WARNING signs on their front page i understand that.. but in the end you get a lot of unhappy customers who think they got half the service.

Turnkey is selling VPS not RDP. Customer's can install the OS from VPS control panel. So there is no chance for shared RDP. It seems OP's Windows got compromised and now blaming turnkeyinternet.

From the discussions which already discussed here in this thread, I can see OP's Server got compromised.

We need to know more about the Turnkeyinternet staff and OP conversation through the ticket or something. What did TurnkeyInternet say to OP while contacting them? Some screenshot proof would be great.

Before seeing that, You can't judge and spread the wrong info about a provider.

I am not associated with Turnkeyinternet. I am one of their Happy clients.

    Thanks

I don't think they are scam or fraud. I have dedicated server with them. They have very good technical support. even in live chat. Ask your problem from the Turnkey technical team. they will give you good solution & suggestions how to protect your windows server
