Tumblr tagged RSS feeds

I knew you could pull tumblr posts from the feed

site.tumblr.com/rss

and then page over the pages with something like

site.tumblr.com/page/2/rss

But just came to my attention you can also get a tagged filtered post list

site.tumblr.com/tagged/#TAG_SEARCH#/rss

i.e.
site.tumblr.com/tagged/sunsets/rss

you would get all the posts on sunsets from blog site.tumblr.com

This is pretty cool, as sites tend to cover quite a few areas and reblogging all posts from a site can be off topic for your site, but you don't really want to manually go through it, or rely purely on tumblr search which can be a bit touch and go at the best of times. Now you can collate all relevant content from a range of blogs to reblog to your site easily through reblogging all posts by feed

what do you use to post to tumblr ? ifttt ? or something else ?

I'd recommend ifttt (free, one account) or PRTrafficBooster (paid, multiple accounts). Ofc you could create multiple ifttt accounts as well, but it'd be a pain to manage those.

i tried but i cant find an option to add click through websites on the images and its freakin slow :S

You can't do click throughs on ifttt. It's really unfortunate...

The only way I know how to do it is to add 300 posts at a time to your queue. Picloadr dot com is the service I use to upload the pics to the queue. The free/basic version only allows you to upload 50 pics at a time and I think 200/day, but the upgrade is reasonably priced and allows you to do unlimited uploads at a time and unlimited per day as well.

subreddits can be awkward as some require age confirmation, so cannot always pull the feed without user interaction (or coding to handle it). But imgur feeds are great and not widely used on tumblr. Helps to have an RSS Image Poster

As soon as I found out about this, I tested it with tumblingjazz and it already worked for reblogging all posts from RSS feed. BST here. Just enter the feed URL and how often to check for new posts, then all posts in the feed will be reblogged.

I suppose could be useful to add this functionality to the blog image scraper as well, probably add that this week
