I currently run a travel blog, which at the moment is at a stand still. I am currently saving up for the next adventure but for the blog I want to crush it with content. However for content I am not sure which route to take.
Should I find articles that worked for other travelers and redo them?
Should I do top 10 lists?
Should I do journals?
Something original I haven't thought of?
Just hire a bunch of writers and tell them topics to write about?
Any ideas or input would be awesome.

Yes, yes and yes. Tips and tricks on traveling also. Take a look at the YT channels on traveling to see the type of content they post. You know your audience better,
 
What he said ^. Focus on popular content. If Kim Kardashian travels there, you better have some content on that location.

I guess it wouldn't be to hard to throw up some general travel alerts and write a quick article every time it came up. Thanks for the ideas guys. Could be used for any niche really.
 
YES, that's all Correct. Readers love reading top 10's. Especially for travelers, they love to know new and best places all over the globe to plan for their next travel adventure. Dishes and delicacy on a different part of the world are also one of the main searches of many travelers. Hiring excellent writers and researchers is very important to make your blog effective and popular. Fresh and unique articles play a big role and also, don't forget to rock social media;) Good luck!
 
Low budget blogging? Hire some bloke to rewrite content and look for competitor articles that aren't indexed yet.
 
You can go for your related niche and you can hire writers for writing your content related to the travel blog.
 
Hire a good writer to your blog and start assigning the interesting topics regarding your niche and build it. Also, get a lot more social shares of your blog posts to get the good reach.
 
Dude, All your ideas are great. Quality content is essential, you can add tips, stories about best places (like what made that place special), foods, etc. Most importantly, embrace social media. Social media is the best and fastest way to promote your blog. Remember to always update your blog with useful and unique content that your visitors will be inspired and loving it.

Listicles (list-based articles such as "Top x blablabla"), how-to articles, and experience-based articles are content strategies you may want to consider.

You need to consider the geographical coverage of your travel-based blog. In short, determine who your audience are. Does your travel blog talk about just one city, state, or country?

Consider local search engine optimization (SEO). If your travel blog caters to people who want to visit New York, you may want to append "New York" in your keyword.

If I were to write your articles, here's what I would do. I will use storybase.com and answerthepublic.com in finding keywords and structuring the outline of the content. These online tools are very effective in terms of finding the exact questions or phrases being typed by people on Google whenever they search for resources related to your topic. Because these tools tell me the questions that people type on Google, it helps me build an interesting outline based on what people are looking for.

How would one go about finding articles that are not indexed yet? Sounds quite hard to do.

Currently the blog targets the world. Have not chosen a place as I do not plan to live in just one place so selecting one may be difficult for end goals. However for the time being I can focus on one place at the time and go from there.

I actually had no idea that storybase and answerthepublic existed. That should make it super easy to find topics that would work. Thank you!

Where do you guys go to hire a decent long term writer. I am more concerned with quality then cost. Would you guys go to a freelance site, here, ask english majors at the local college?

Hi, @JuliaG1. I see. I hope I would be able to work with you on that plan, especially if you need help on content writing.
 
What I would do is post specific tips to different popular destinations. There are many other larger travel websites where users post reviews, itineraries, etc. Just read a bunch of them and put them into your own words.
 
Look through other travelling high ranked blogs. Analyse how they organise their content. Also you can find most popular questions about travelling and build your posts around this themes.
 
There are a lot of forums that also post hot travel deals to get tickets. You can probably create a good email group from your site by doing the same thing. Just take the content from other sources when deals pop up.

Here on BHW. There was a content writer thread here about a year ago, awesome guy. I forget his username, but it's probably the top content thread at the marketplace (I haven't looked TBH).
