Hey I been on a mission asking question today and thanks for every bodies help:D I bought a website on Flippa and I bought it off someone who is I don't think would trust transferring all the files, domains etc. to my hosting. They seem like me not too tech savy. Does anyone know if I could hire someone and they can do it? What information would I have to get from seller to give to the freelancer. Or what steps do I have to follow to get the domains pushed to my hosting and all the files put into my hosting. Thanks!

if it is a wordpress site then use a free plugin like duplicator or wp-clone-by-wp-academy which are free on wordpress.org and do it yourself, then install on your host

1.) You can pay someone on Fiverr to do this. However trust will still be an issue.

2.) The process is actually quite simpler than you may imagine. There are many YouTube videos that will show you step by step how to do it.

If it is just mostly HTML/CSS/JavaScript then you can use HTTrack to copy the site and install it on another server. If it has php, asp, ect... then you will need to go a different route depending on what type of environment it is currently hosted on. I may be able to help, PM me.

Learn to do it yourself mate, it only takes like 3 decent 1 page guides to work through all the steps, and will give you the basics of what you need to be a webmaster.

Lookup

transferring files from one website to another via filezilla ftp
backup your website database and transfer to another web host
push domain from one register to another

thats all the steps right there.

You will need to prepare the ground for your new baby and setup wordpress on your host,
ready to import the database using one of the backup software mentioned above. So get that sorted out first.

Then get the DB import it, upload the file structure via filezilla ftp, then transfer domain to new register.

Having the site transfer, or being offline for a couple of days is no real issue at all, so take your time and get it all right.

if you both are in cpanel just ask him to get you a cpanel backup and you can restore in your cpanel.. for domains, contact domain host.. they can guide you in better way!

As mickyfu said a good hosting company will do this for you, and its actually alot simpler than you would imagine.

This video details all the steps, you should watch it.

If you have more tech knowledge than him, ask him to use duplicator (free wp plugin), and send you the files (installer and zipped data file). It's really easy to use.

Agree with all those who have said that this is a very easy process actually no matter how the site was developed or where it is currently hosted. You have file structure, possibly databases, and typically nameserver settings for DNS when transferring to a new host. Having done hundreds of wordpress site transfers over the years I can tell you that moving a WP site is a little harder than an html based website, but seriously its ONLY a little harder.

Definitely check the vids, and don't overpay if you ultimately decide not to develop this skillset. Did we mention it's SUPER EASY???

Thanks guys for the help! I decided to do it on my own and waiting 7-10 days for domains to be pushed to my account is BS! Can I still use the websites once I have the files in my hosting?
