Too Many Backlinks

The #1 ranked competitors in my niche has 700k backlinks. If there is a "too many," it's beyond one million.

Don't build too many back links to home page it will BAN you in longterm, do build back links to your inner pages it will look natural and boost your home page ranks.

DON'T listen to crap like this

DO build lots of backlinks.

Many many sites have the vast majority of backlinks pointing to the main URL only.

You want someone to download Acrobat, Openoffice, Winamp..

Everyone posts the same link to these sites.

On a smaller scale. Want someone to buy your "A1 Dogwalking guide" "Zygor leveling guide" then just about every link you find on the net will point to the very same URL - and these sites do fine. In fact they do more than fine - they dominate (and are niche "bedroom" operations)

Look saady - if you are just guessing, then don't post bollocks ..and you are either just guessing or are mistaken.


THe only reason to post links to other pages is if they are onsite optimized for different keywords or you actually WANT visitors to start their first instead.

(Both of which are fine and quite common)

But making links to other pages to "keep the SE's happy" is of no practical use what-so-ever. and a waste of your time and effort.
