TO Tag or not to Tag??

Ok so I have a question ans was wondering if anyone really knew the true answer. I have been searching around here and have read several post on SEO and Blogging. I am really working all the angles the way I am instructed and keeping it simple. However I have run into an issue....I have read in different places that it is a good idea to add tags to your post/content for SEO purposes and I have also read the Opposite and using Wordpress All In One SEO Plug-in is sufficient. What is the best choice? Can anyone help me with this? THank you in advance for all of the great help I have received here.

um. IMO don't use them. You'll run into issues with duplicate content, or you tags might out rank your money pages if you're not careful, best to avoid. no benefit of using them over alternatives

You should only use tags when you exactly know how to craft them i.e. you are an experienced user . otherwise use All-in-One SEO Plugin.

I use tags and have no problems.
