Title tag too long with site name at the end?

Hi all,

I use Yoast to append my site name after my post titles.

As a result, my title tags look like this:

Come And Read My Beautiful New Post - My Site Name

I just noticed that my site name at the end makes the title tag too long on many of my posts. So, should I just remove the "- My Site Name" part altogether? Is a too long title tag a serious issue that needs to be resolved or is it not that important?

I suggest you optimize your title with proper KW within 60 characters. It doesn't matter if your title name has your site name.
 
You can remove it. And better keep the correct length.

for the purpose of SEO, I think with title tags what matters are the first few words. They should be optimized to the best having the keywords in the first 3 words, of course depends on what you're writing. It has to make sense.


Having your site name at the end of it, doesn't necessarily impact on the ability of the page to rank. Only remove your site name if you really want to do that or it's just too long that it doesn't make sense to the user.


I. Assuming your site name only appears alongside the title of your post on Google search, if it appears with the post title inside your blog, then it really doesn't make sense. It's not nice and should be removed.
 
Just use your main keywords at the beginning and if the lenghth is too long - remova the site's name. It will not harm to SEO

Will it make a big difference in rankings if I optimize and turn a 90-character title tag into 55 characters?

For example if I currently rank #8 on page 3, can that change alone make me move up 2 or 3 spots?
 
I would remove the website name from the post titles. I would be concerned about titles being considered duplicates ( or close to that ).

It totally depends on you. How would you like to keep it.? But having a long title tag is not a good practice though.
 
Always try to keep it between 55-60 character.
 
remove your site name in long titles, but don't remove it in all posts, because it is important for uniqueness.
