Tips to increase traffic.

I am new to the forums so not 100% sure I am posting in the right forum so please move it if it is in the wrong category.
I am designing a new social media shoutout website where I plan to get users with strong followers to be be featured on my site and I then get users who want to be featured on their pages to pay for a shoutout.
I figure getting instagram, facebook pages with a lot of followers to be a part of the site would be easy as it is free to sign up and its a way for them to get more shoutouts (I plan to keep 20% of the shoutout).
The issue I think I am going to run into is how to get traffic so other users will see my website.
I am new to this so I really dont know the first place to start when it comes to getting traffic to my site.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I think creating large social media accounts for the website first will be important. So that you can build your own following/traffic through those. Start with Facebook accounts with 4-5k friends (if you don't wanna buy them then build them), IG accounts with a couple thousand followers, same with Twitter. Post updates about your website often and refer people to the site.

You can also go the SEO route, but I think you'll be facing heavy competition.

ads , shoutout , going door to door to people who wants shout out ,ptc sites is one good way

This is slightly ironic that OP is starting a shout out site for social media and everyone is advising him to do shout outs

I really like this idea bro, go for it! I think you can try making google or fb advertisements?
