Tips On Ranking A Snack Company

My brother started a snack company 3 years ago. It took 2 years for proper product development till he was able to launch three flavors of snack bars. Last year was the first year he saw sales. But not much.

Our figure on social media is unremarkable. He designed his own site and he designs mostly all of the content used online. By now we should of expected close to a thousand in orders a month, at least. But we unfortunately aren't.

So we get a lot of individual online orders. We are featured on the front page of Abe's market, which is good, based on that they receive around 300,000K visitors a day. But what seems to be strange is that our Alexa ranking is still at 18,000,000+.

I know it is sad especially if I'm a registered member on BHW. But I can say I f'd up.

I've been yelling at him for the last 4 months to start a damn blog but he hasn't listened to me, but starting Monday I'm taking full charge of the website. My plan is to have 5 info graphs created by him (which he's extremely talented in) and blast them mostly on our social media. I'm trying to figure out the best way to use them on our site other than having them along side blog articles.
5 base articles to start the blog with, targeting long tailed keywords, and updating the blog three times a week in the same way.

I will try my best on involving the company in other blogs through commenting.
But other than that I might of hit a road block.

I need some tips on ranking a snack company. I'm not allowed to post any links but our company is called mazrafoods. If someone can check out the structure of the site to see if there can be improvements on the sites structure/on-site SEO.

Building a blog for a snack company...Might not really help you out in this day and age. Use the bars to create a recipe with marshmallows and caramel, the less healthy the better You need viral traffic, a healthy bar with unhealthy ingredients and Imgur trolls is the perfect mix. Put it up on imgur and pinterest. Infographs and social media sound good as well. I like the word gluten free and granola. Pinterest would be an awesome social media to start on. Target Holistic Health as it's popular and seem to go hand in hand with the gluten free crowd. Use google communities to your advantage For instance you could offer everyone 10 cents off that order from the communities same can be done with pinterest. I'm just rambling here so you can get an idea forming in your head. Also don't take full control of the site as others insight is always helpful. Get a list of mommy blogs going, send them an email telling them if they'd like to try 5 bars in exchange for a review post or just pay them some money and get a review post on their site. I just brainstormed here. The rest is in your hands!

Alexa and PR isn't shit so please don't write crap like that. PLEASE DON't use blog commenting as a way to market a brick and mortar business. Show my post to your brother, I'm guessing he's older and wiser.

If your product is on the front page of a website getting 300,000 hits a day and you aren't getting a lot of sales, your actual sales page is probably going to be your problem as you're not converting your prospects into buyers.

Looking at the abesmarket your product has 0 reviews and the description probably needs to be redone. This is a situation where instead of starting a blog you need to be split testing your sales pages to see what is actually going to convert for you.

As far as ranking your snack company, I can't see any obvious keywords that are really being targeted to boost your rankings. Doesn't seem to be a strong SEO presence on the website.

edit - you kind of have your products listed on Amazon. Ship your product to an Amazon warehouse and start having it fulfilled by Amazon to get all the amazon prime members and do a solid Amazon push.

Thanks for your feedback. Him and I were talking about ranking and a boost on Alexa and he suggested a post on BHW to see if there are any useful tactics we may use. As for taking over the website for SEO, I'm not. It was only for the sake of this post. But in fact I have been working hand to hand with him on multiple parts of the site.

So as for contacting many mommy blogs... That's our niche. We have numerous amounts of mommy bloggers and younger health freaks that we send free products to and in return a review with a link.

I haven't used imgur.. Ever. So I'll most definitely check that out. And for Pinterest, we are doing great in. We have a social media management company to take care of FB, Instagram, and Pinterest. Our Pinterest activity is so good that we are finally able to advertise with them. **That was the most recent news by them**

But just a quick annoying question. Viral traffic coming from a healthy product with less healthy ingredients from imgur. Do you mind explaining it a bit thoroughly?

For amazon prime. Sending it to their warehouse for their end of fulfillment will give us a push on amazon? I'll be researching that more a little but later thanks again!

You need to rank first for "gluten free snacks" and you will see how many orders you get.

There are quite a big number of vegans and health junkies on imgur. But you can't just post a picture publish it on imgur saying here is a picture of my cookies buy them. You can and it will probably be down voted into oblivion. What you need to do is think of a recipe, i saw a couple of good ones on the site. Take it step by step and post it here is an example http://imgur.com/gallery/VXKAb this got around 17k upvotes generally you hit the first page with around 2-3k.

As for the mommy blogs are you focusing on the ones that are hiding out in blogger? There must be a couple of thousand there with a huge cult following. I know for a fact they love to get free stuff and would give you a pr3+ backlink in a heart beat. The PR isn't important what's important is the exposure you get. try branching out to the vegans and holistic health groups as well. I looked at your pinterest page and it seems whoever your working with isn't really hustling hard. Download pinterest on your phone, learn the ins and outs, and get used to managing your own social media atleast the pinterest aspect of it till you can hire someone who will do an A+ job. Advertising on pinterest is also good set aside $100 a week and stay on it. Instagram is also another avenue worth taking a look at, they have bunch of people who are interested in such "healthy" products. Since this is a brick and mortar business Automating it via BH doesn't sound to good to my ear as anything like this is going to receive a better return with the human element, it's amazing what the human touch can do in the right circumstances.

The only reason I thought of turning to BH SEO is to increase our alexa ranking. Its sad to look at it and see its 17,800,000 behind our main competitors... KIND snacks. But your right genuineness is the right choice for

A large majority of Amazon Prime members when they search for something, automatically check the "prime" only button for the free 2 day shipping. Having your products fulfilled by amazon while having an awesome product page with good reviews will boost your sales quite a bit.

Also as a bonus for being shipped from Amazon, affiliates for Amazon will be able to promote your products and get paid (by Amazon).

1. First design your website cool look and rainbow colors
2. You Must have blog Page also along image and video . Bold and hyper link some keyword.
3. Create perfect meta tag and desp.
4. Create site max and google map to rank easy.
5. Keep on update the blogs with latest update about your product or service with global market.
6. Do some Marketing using various source.
7. Leave your website for 3 months without doing any seo .
8.After few months you can hire any good seo provider to create quality back link to your website.

When I want a snack, I buy it from the corner shop, not the interwebs.

Some people on this thread would probably prefer to shoplift your brothers snacks, not buy them.

I think it's better to focus on Social media campaign by trying viral methods with some giveaways, snack eating contests or create a record sized "snack" etc as the Christmas is nearing.

Thanks w130SN. My brother and his product development team were talking about that just recently. A subscription for our granola and bars. I'll check out the 5 sites and see what my brother and I can do.

To to be quite honest I was never a snack kind of guy, let alone healthy ones. So I understand where you guys are coming from. But we can say that to most of the products that black hatters promote

There is some great advice on this thread. Honestly though, stop worrying about Alexa rank.

A list of all the shops in your city, and which ones you've spoke with a persuaded to try a trial of your snacks will do more for your bottom line than 5 articles, and a bunch of graphics. DO both obviously, but more snacks are bought in shops, rather than over the web all day every day.

I started this thread to get tips on improving rankings and Alexa for a snack company, not to run one. We have our products distributed to all of the gas stations, Co-ops, markets etc. in our area, all the way to New York City and partial borders of Pennsylvania.

Seriously Alexa is nothing, install the toolbar visit your site and set the page to refresh every minute, add some Hitleap/10K Hits traffic and your Alexa will improve, it won't increase sales or provide any other benefit. The only thing that improves Alexa are site hits/visits so sending cheap/fake traffic will improve your Alexa Rank. Do this for 3 months and you will see a big jump.
Your social media management company doesn't seem to be doing a great job, as social metrics are poor, so add branded social accounts, and start sharing.
The Infographics you state you will be making will be good for this.
The other problem is that the company seems to be branded MazraFoods on some accounts and MazraSnacks on others.
The actual homepage is pretty poor as it doesn't even show your products off well, will probably need a redesign.
You could also release a Press Release whenever you launch a new product.
You need to start a link building campaign, health/lifestyle blogs would be the obvious choice.
