Tips On Ranking A Snack Company

He designed his own site and he designs mostly all of the content used online. By now we should of expected close to a thousand in orders a month, at least. But we unfortunately aren't.

There's part of the problem! No offense but the site, the logo and color choices aren't that good. A very simple black logo doesn't reflect healthy food ...
Like n8800 mentioned, setting up a blog and commenting will not bring you any further, the info graphics is a good idea but only if it is done right and goes viral! Don't blast them away!!

I started this thread to get tips on improving rankings and Alexa for a snack company, not to run one. We have our products distributed to all of the gas stations, Co-ops, markets etc. in our area, all the way to New York City and partial borders of Pennsylvania.

Forget Alexa rank, rankings, pr and all that other blablabla.
You should get professional help to the marketing side of his product. It's cool that he has his product all over the place but if people are not buying it then there is a problem with the presentation and marketing ... You have to make people believe that they need to buy your product to start/maintain of healthy lifestyle!

Thread cleaned, don't let me catch you 2 having a pissing contest on irrelevant threads again - the other one was enough. Fair warning.

OP, your brother's site sucks. Big time. Go visit food/recipes sites and see the layout. See how the content is placed. See the colors/contrasts & elements. And also the content is very thin - especially the front page. I understand your bro wants to have "nice pics" and "stuff" because he made it but is it there so that your brother can pull his e-dick or is it there to convert?

Reddit is great to market food. It's terrible for CPC and other traffic, but for food, you'll find fake pizza marketing posts all over town like "look my XXPIZZAPLACE guy really is considerate, I ordered one pizza and got a full box of 24 pizzas for free because I was high and my cat accidentally sucked my dick".

Honestly, I hate when that happens. @ OP: As many have said: 1. Alexa ranking means nothing. 2. PR means nothing. 3. You have an issue converting. What many on this forum will say, if you have the traffic and are not making money, you have an issue with your landing page and conversions.

This gave me a great article for reddit. "The day i got high, but still managed to stay healthy" You go in talking about how much weed you smoked and once the munchies hit you devoted X companies gluten free
snacks. Here is an idea, work on it, improve it, do it!

Don't post your idea here. They'll find it and it'll backfire.

OP.

Saw the site. It just doesn't work. It looks like a photography/art portfolio site. Not a snack company. I can't quite put my finger on it but it just doesn't work. I would scrap it instead of trying to tweak it.

You can't take a turd and try to reshape it into a gold bar.

After a glance it looks like whomever designed it tried to rip off the KIND site...but they failed. Everything from the homepage to the footer is an attempt to copy the KIND site...but the designer failed horribly.

Actually, I'm 100% certain the tried to rip the site off. Look at the footers:

I mean they even tried to rip off the KIND logo...(with the line bars...such a ripoff attempt)

I'm not saying this to be a dick. But whomever is designing this or in charge of brand direction...they need to find YOUR brands identity...and not rip off KIND. If I can spot this in less than 5 seconds then the average customer buying these snacks will notice it too. KIND has the market. If people see a company come into the space that is a clear ripoff attempt they won't trust you enough to even give it a try.

That's like if some new soda company came out and copied Coke's logo...everyone that buys soda would spot that in seconds and they would automatically consider it a ripoff company and not buy it.

Instead of trying to fix little holes in the ship one by one I would work on a 100% re-branding effort behind the scene....I just feel that because the brand is trying to copy KIND and not be original that move shot you in the foot big time.

Just my opinion though.

==============================

Fast forward to whenever you fix that....

You need to make it clear why your snacks are superior to the competition. There are a million choices. What makes you different? Identify that and then brand the shit out of your unique selling point. Someone needs to look at your packaging and within 0.0000045345 seconds know WHY they should be buying your product over the other 6 options next to it.

Get out the checkbook and get some celebrity endorsers to start taking about the company. And get hooked up with a good PR firm that can get the snacks on some good outlets. I know of a health food company that got mentioned on the Today show during a food segment and they exploded overnight. That market is tough...competitive as hell.

Good luck.

I think his brother (the owner) did it himself, which is even worse than a bad designer because it's so much harder for the owner to fire himself - that's why I was harsh on my comment for the site too :)

Re-branding will be a must and I will recommend it to be sooner than later.

Thank you all for helping. I really do appreciate them.

And I am not worried about the harsh comments, its only to better us.:D

I don't get why you are focusing on your Alexa rating when you should be 100% focusing on why the visitors aren't converting. Alexa does NOTHING.
