We're able to go faster depending on the file Well, right now, I don't have an example and no, you're not going to make me search the European Parliament website tonight. But, have a look at the legislation on platform workers (Deliveroo/Uber), for example. It didn't take this long and yet, here it is, it's done.
Or are you thinking of some other kind of Digital Services Act-style legislation?

Uber is legal in most European countries. Some cities dissallowed it
If you think about platform workers law, it's still not implemented in many countries. Poland will implement it after July.

I was thinking of Uber Eat more than Uber (the VTCs).
So, yes, it's normal that it's not on the agenda yet since it's just been voted so it needs time to be transposed, you know perfectly well that there is a deadline and that it's mentioned in the Official Journal of the European Union

They are banning tik tok for 3 reasons:

1: The bloated legislation shows their goal is control over all social media. All media will be gov controlled.....think Facebook during the pandemic or Twitter before Musk. This leg changes the relationship between gov and private business. Before, it was voluntary and happened due to partisanship...well, basically the uni-party against Trump. All the hoopla that happened with investigations showing that the Biden Whitehouse asked Facebook, etc. to censor whatever will never be an issue again....bc it will now be the gov's legal right to direct whatever they want.

2: All social media spy on users. But with Tik Tok, there is no direct gov control. If Facebook gets compromising info on someone in government, there is little reason to use it...instead, they are blackmailed in secrecy. The intel community/gov gets what they want on the end and the compromised person is held captive but safe from embarrassment until they are no longer useful or blackmailing them is no longer beneficial.
So, this is a way for the gov to protect ITSELF

3: COMPLETE MEDIA CONTROL. Remember when the farmers were holding Paris captive? Or the Dutch farmers? Of the coups in the African countries? Oh ya....most of you probably don't. Bc news almost globally decided not to show it. Worse than that, there were huge protests within my own country that I didn't hear about until I saw it on tik tok. The gov subsidizes all major media companies in Canada and fully funds one. So, quite often anything anti-gov is absent from the news... and this is in Canada.

Trust me, if the American gov wanted to protect the people against China, there are faster easier ways to do it.

The guys blocked France's highways. But we still got around, and I promise you we didn't have any supply problems in Paris and the suburbs

And the Government (and Parisians) didn't panic more than that for one simple reason: we knew that unlike the Yellow Jackets or this summer's riots in the suburbs, it wasn't going to last.

I somehow doubt the banning of tiktok in USA, alot of awareness is been created with the app or maybe they just want to get rid of it for some known reasons to them

This post is super based

If the US Congress, the Senate, and the President, ALL agree to do something in the US, no one can stop them, not even the Supreme Court.

The job of the Supreme Court is to "Interpret" the law, not to make the law...

Congress is the entity that makes the law, and if the President is willing to sign it, they can also change, amend, or rewrite the Constitution if they want to...

They can even abolish, expand, or reduce the Supreme Court if they want to...

Heck, the US Congress can make laws even without the President if they have the votes...

So, the notion that anything can go against Congress + Senate + President is COMPLETELY false.
