TikTok Ban in the USA - the process

People have many doubts, so I will write short process instruction.
So people will not cry, TikTok will tomorrow vanish from the USA. It will not happen so soon

STEP 1
1. House of Representatives - signed
2. Senate - will sign, not signed
3. President, Biden - will sign

RESULT - TikTok have 1 year to sell the business

STEP 2
1. TikTok will sue the USA in every from 50 states
2. TikTok will sue the USA in the Supreme Court

RESULT 1 - TikTok will have another 2-3 years until they need to sell the business, because the law is against US constitution.
RESULT 2 - TikTok will be legal in some states and illegal in other states
RESULT 3 - TikTok will be legal everywhere if they win in the Supreme Court

Middle Step - election will win the president who is against TikTok ban law. Trump told he not like it, because Facebook, Google or another big tech can buy TikTok and become the ultimate monopolist in the USA.
RESULT - President revoke the law and we are coming back to STEP 1, point 3


SUMMARY:
1. You have 1-3 years before TikTok will be deleted from the USA
2. You have many chances it will not be banned

It's simple. TikTok is malware. They can do a lot more than for example standard Google apps on Android device.
They are actively looking for system loopholes and they are using them to collect data, localization and many many more.

I could say that "fortunately" TikTok has never been available for my country, but I must admit that it is a social network with a lot of potential for marketing, sales, influencers etc.

I can tell you, they can get your location with location disabled. Using many turn around ways like scanning nearby wifi devices. It's not against normal user, but it's one of reasons why they were blocked from goverment devices in many countries. They just scanning nearby routers, modems, phones, laptops, everything to make unique fingerprints. Such data alone is useless, but what if they have more data. For example, in the range of one of thes devices, user with turned on location appears? Maybe he just walk nearby? Then they have goverment devices located to few meters. Connect that with signal strenght and many other factors.

Well, if that was the case why in the first place, authorities allowed for many years before now taking consideration to take it down by doing one way or another as we already know many countries have banned Tiktok at a very early stage because of many security factors i Believe why USA is still processing and just thinking ?

Such a ban will harm a lot of companies who are selling there.

Everything is Malware now days.

There isn't a single app that's not looking to creep into your personal data.

TikTok being managed by a US company will make it more of a malware app than it supposedly already is.

We all know the real reason why US politicians are pushing to ban TikTok in the US, but we cannot mention it lest we get banned from here.

But Google apps are not browser wrote in C language, obfuscated like hell in every update loading to the container Java Script code from remote servers
This is the problem, noone have the full control. Apple, Google just don't know what TikTok can load to users.

Biden is for the ban/sale. Trump is for the ban/sale. this is bipartisan.. Trump recently came out against it for purely partisan political reasons.. it's election season. do not forget when in office he signed an EO pushing for the very same thing: a forced sale. now one name popping up in the sale talk is his own former Treasury Secretary, Mr Mnuchin. my read: this will will pass the Senate, and it will be signed by Biden. it was recently wrapped up into foreign aid bills.. there's a push in this country for more aid for Ukraine, for Israel, and for Taiwan.

now the question is does ByteDance just tell Uncle Sam to fuck off or not - not agree to the fire sale, and just accept a US ban. i think i would if i were them tbh. after all, as politicians here say: this is some kind of CCP weapon - why would i give all of that up over America? if it's true, there are still plenty of people to influence.. no? nevermind the profit the platform generates.



the most curious thing to me is that the underlying issue i'm told is of national security importance - our data and sentiment manipulation - aren't even addressed in this bill lol. the CCP can still buy all of our data just as anyone else with cash can. they can still influence us on our own platforms, as RU tried to do in 2016 and Israel tries to today. meanwhile the House Intel Cmte ranking member, who has way more insight into national security intel than the public, didn't see enough there to warrant such a ham-fisted action. who knows what the real reason is.. i have my suspicions.

I don't know if you're interested in the subject, but as it stands, the European Union is also likely to kick TikTok out. We've got elections in a month and a half, so it remains to be seen what the European Commission & Parliament will do.
BUT ! If the USA leads by example, Europe will follow.

Yes, it will not be so fast.
It can be banned, but it will take 1-3 years. Not few weeks or months.

Several candidates have gone to war against TikTok, because of the platform's foreign interference. But it all depends on the results.
If the S&D have a majority in the European Parliament, we can hope to see a ban. But if it's the ECR or I&D or even the EPP, we're in deep trouble. The first are traitors and the third cowards.
The Greens will go for a ban, and so will the Lefts.
In the committee, it was Breton who started the ball rolling, so everything depends on the June vote on this issue.
As for countries outside the European Union… Well, let's just say that kicking 28 countries off the platform isn't bad.
As for VPNs, I'd be less categorical than you. You can access RT & Sputnik with a VPN, even though these two media outlets are under Western sanctions.

It's not such easy to ban TikTok on European Union level.
Only the European Commission can make new laws.
Then prime ministers of each 27 countries must approve it.
After that, parliaments of 27 countries must approve it.
Making such law in Europe is even longer than in the USA. Standard new law is 5-6 years
