bottom line is that a lot of users will lose the community they built and their aspirations alongside with it. I wouldn't want to be in their position.

If you are in the game of marketing and your relying on one source of income for your sales or traffic then something is wrong someplace.

it is for the people who's main gig relies on tiktok's platform for marketing. And I am not even talking about the content creators who are mostly only relying on the platform itself.
I don't understand where some of you got this idea of so long your portfolio is diversified, a ban on a large segment of your revenue stream is equivalent to nothing lost when it is clearly a loss. If tik tok represents 20% of your marketing schemes then you lose 20% of it. It's not 100% but it's still a 20% loss.

So you build a business that is running of a platform you don't even own and you are 100% invested in that?

Thats a super smart move there.

It's just the same as selling only on eBay, using amazon only for affiliate.

IF you can't control where your income is coming from or its built on the availably of just 1 platform which you don't own or have no say in. Then all you are is a contributor to that companies growth, you have no real business.

For many of these people as you say who have lost out now and everything is going to go or has gone they only have their self to blame, the ones who have been smart to diversify are going to keep on going and growing.

Am no fan of what China is doing, but can anybody tell me the US is not doing the same? Just yesterday, the Intel hack dump seemed to reveal backoors in the firmware powering Intel chips...maybe its even China retaliating with that hack...its going to get worse...this tit for tat..Like it or not China is strong and has the ability to match each action tit for tat....interesting days we live in.
 
The timing of this is surprising given Microsoft's declared interest in acquiring TikTok. I thought that may have bought TT some longevity but I guess not.

I understand what you mean and I agree. However, regardless of what we say, this move is killing all these revenue streams that people have taken a lot of time to build.

That's a double standard right here. US have tons of apps spying all the planet and still 1 chinese app is the big problem haha
 
I hope Microsoft or someone buys Tik tok and it sticks around. How long before we had a new popular social media site to play with?

Finally something new comes, where the cycle of Instagram can be repeated all over again, and all of you can bank with your bots and cpa and affiliate and whatnot. And now this happens.

In India, hundreds of Chinese app were banned.. In US, just two. But China have banned Facebook to YouTube for long..

TikTok is dangerous -- so dangerous that the President had to issue an Executive Order to ban them. The US Military banned all personnel from creating accounts with personally id info back in April. Data mining by big tech and big biz (McDonalds purchased a datamining company last year) must stop. Don't be stupid.

He is not banning Tiktok just because Its Chinese. If that was the case, then a loooot of bans would take place.
