You really think your government isn't spying on you or other countries? I ain't even talking about THOTS. There's plenty of content creators who work hard to be independent and not a WAGE SLAVE in the corporate world and shit like this screws them over.
 
IMO, it's a good thing. Tik Tok is just making children more and more narcissistic, plus the security thing is a genuine issue for governmental agencies since everything is getting logged, passed on and sold which is crazy once you think about it.

Do you have a source for this?

Because there is literally no proof of China using TikTok or Huawei or other apps for spying. This is an accusation frequently thrown out by Pompeo but many of the western countries like Germany, the UK and Australia have their intelligence agencies looked into it and found absolutely nothing.

I clearly stated that tiktok is dangerous because of the datamining and mentioned that the US Military is concerned because it is a NATIONAL SECURITY PROBLEM. Obviously you didn't read my post; nowhere in this post did I mention chinese -- you only wanted an excuse to try and critisize someone you don't agree with.

Not apps that are under the control (or can be) of a purely imperialist government. American apps pose their own problems, one of which is that they are truly transnational. They hold no allegiance to any country and so, have no real oversight....which is how you get things like Pakistan demanding things tweeted by Americans, on American soil, be deleted.

Well, I can't answer exactly how it's a threat. But, mobile apps can collect a lot of data. And as others have said if there are no protections on that data then it can be bought and sold to whoever is interested. You would have to look to how the communist party is currently using data collection to see what the real threat would be. I know they surveil their citizens and if you're caught jaywalking you can get a ticket mailed to you. Do we want that kind of control in the US? Now does your cell phone contain exact location data? Most certainly.

Thanks for your reply. But that's my thing....what value or threat are they going to glean from your average 15 year old American tiktokker that is going help China discover America's secrets to their military, national security, pentagon files, access codes, information and technology etc.?

It's not like those American government personnel are secretly using TikTok themselves and uploading dancing videos at night when no one is watching. There is 0 evidence of any actual breach of serious threat or theft. If it's just knowing what you like to shop for, watch on the internet, and where you like to travel .....well of course, any app or software can do that and does that all the time.

But how is TikTok going to reveal the secret nuclear launch codes of the US nuclear stockpile, or give away the keys to the US banks and financial systems or whatever it is they are so scared of that TikTok is somehow able to infiltrate?

Yes agreed.
I think that kind of app may be a threat for 2020 Poll. I am not sure whether it is true or not. But Govt. want to make such impression among its people.

On the other hand USA GOVT. is ordering PPE & other medical related stuffs from China.
At the same time they are blaming China for spreading/discovering/inventing COVID-19

Now see, if China invented COVID-19, then they should have the cure + all loopholes(which could be used to be tricked/injected in medical related stuffs those are shipping from China) correct??
So is not it dangerous for USA people?? to get COVID-19 related medical treatment from China itself?

For Govt. prospective, they don't give a shit about above security threat.
Now you should know why :| Because it is related to USA peoples & not about USA GOVT.

They only do care about GOVT. as its 1st priority. Citizens lives don't have any priority, at least in Govt. eyes.
