Thoughts on perplexity.ai ?

I had a play with this the other month and it's hit and miss. If it has a huge investment it might become a serious player, but for now, it's more of a gimmick.

at that point new content will be create by ai itself lol,
it will become monopoly. and those in im will focus on marketing and ads ..
but i honestly doubt this, too much money in the field it will never progress like that, example limitation on acess on newest data,or blocked on rules and regulation.also perplexity.ai stil use chat gpt that is not uptodate.
i am more looking forward on game engine that can utlized this ai, a simple text based games with this ai will be unlimited replaybility with unique run each time. or use it on npc and make them like real person, list goes on
 
And now the big question, will governments allow AI to provide information for the mass public? Wouldn't it be too dangerous? There would be no one to take responsibility for the answers if something goes wrong, it cannot be controlled, and more importantly, no one (maybe very few people) can make money from it.

Plus, I read some articles about the social concerns with AI. If AI gets bigger and bigger, there would be almost no social interaction among people since most will become BFFs with AI (I imagine something like the movie "Her"). All social media will be floated with AI-generated responses, comments on YouTube, and anything. It will be literally impossible to distinguish real people with AI in this case.
 
It's already big now, most likely to get bigger...
So take advantage, get in there now (before it gets saturated) and make some big bucks before everyone else gets on the bandwagon.

semantic search is not that accurate, cannot replace search engine in any way.

There has been one of these already named AI dungeon. It has been around for some time and last I tried it was noticeably not as good as chat GPT is at especially keeping the story straight. It was a very cool concept and had multiple themes to choose from and would give you one of quite a few starts and then the rest was up to you.

yeah i know that one, as you said it's still not good enough. what i look forward is using chatgpt on it.
