This forum needs to evolve

Reading the posts, I have the feeling that the users are in an infinite loop.

Most of the real and sustainable means to win money are not at all shared. For instance, there is no "building product" section, there is no testimonies about successful products, etc.

I think this forum should evolve (partially) towards real entrepreneurship. It is like we are all in the spirit "make 100$ quickly", which burn energy to achieve very small goals.

A section like "indie hackers" or /r/entrepreneur would be welcomed I think.

Interesting suggestion. @Diamond Damien posted the requirements for new subforums on the forum last year, which I've quoted below. I can look around the forum to see how many threads are on this topic, but I'm not sure when I'll have the time to do that.

Where you can find 30+ posts made in the last 15 days on this topic, from engaged members, post them into a new thread in the forum suggestions and feedback section and we'll look into it. Where you would like a section around your brand or personal topic you will need to become an Enterprise member and then you can discuss this with your dedicated account manager.

For now, your content should be added into the dedicated CPA section

Unfortunately, too many people would use this as a chance to post testimonials for their own products and services. Although, perhaps it would be feasible if there was a post count or an account age restriction preventing every Joe Blow from self-promoting.

For now, you can always use search the marketplace for product reviews.

I get the feeling that the forum is already moving in that direction of building a sustainable business over quickie methods. However, what would really help encourage more discussions of that nature is if you or any other members starts posting about it.

This is what it comes down to - spark the change that you want. Don't expect members to give you the game on a silver platter if you're not giving something back.

Many members such as Sherb, 7878, MisterF, BTB, Zwielicht, t0mmy, Billy Batts... etc have inspired me to create sustainable income via a real business. The info is out there to get you've just got to be ready for it

That is the most important thing. In my opinion, it is the craze among members which forces the owner to think of starting a new section. Like crypto was started when there ere numerous posts related to it here.

I am agree that a forum is partly built based on the member's posts. However, thinking objectively, I doubt of the success of this strategy and I believe that owners of the forum have also a role to play to cover other niches. People are not stupid: if I want to ask for an opinion about an "innovative" product I will not ask here because I would have the feeling to be out of the subject. And because a lot of people will ask: "what is your niche?" or will ask: "could you share your code?". Seriously guys.

For me, saying "hmm, opening a section depends on related posts count" is a vicious circle: as it does not exist and/or not promoted, nobody will post, except for massive buzz-thematics like crypto and so.

I am obviously not a specialist in forum management, but I think (and it is a personal contribution as I am here since so many many years) that forum admins/owners should not trust user's posts to define the thematics. Even if a side of myself say: "they implemented a fair system, it is like democracy", or "they follow the market", I believe they are both the wrong approach. The thing is that we all know that "disruption" happens when we have the feeling to follow the market, while in the background it is the opposite. And I believe we are there. We are already detached from the market.

I believe that this forum is currently being disrupted, and it will be more in the two next years. This is my point that I wanted to share, not argumented perfectly obviously.

Another feeling I have is that this forum does not promote the notion of "communities". But I already made a post on this. I think we should gather ourselves, we should meet, we should form smaller communities, 2, 3, 10 people, whatever. And this should be also promoted by admins if they have an interest to get further and deeper contributions. This is key honestly. But as it happens today: we are all alone, even in "JV". In short, there is no trust, there is no community. I don't know how much this forum make each year, but it may be a good investment to actually invest on people in real life. We have all something in common, which is not internet, which is not BHW... Something that I would resume as: "We all want to make a shortcut to the success: fast, tricky, and efficient".

Long story short: this is a proposal to wake up collectively and dragging ideals to the upper level.

I don't necessarily disagree but I find it hard to take seriously from a member that joined in 2011 and only has 141 posts.

2011 - 2017 contributed 60 posts. so what 10 a year.

I don't need the staff to decide if a poster is using this forum to feel good about himself by being arrogant, having a bad attitude and never contributing. It's perfectly open for everyone to see that you are using this as a platform to outlet your lifes suffering/pain.

I doubt it's against the rules to spew out negative and low quality posts in every thread just to...be seen.
