Howdy,

I am thinking about giving up on the whole SEO thing, well I'm just feeling really down.

The Story:

I started a local service business to bring in more money for my family. Our goal (my new wife and I) is to buy a house and put a good down payment on this house. I started working 7 days a week to achieve this goal. I have had really good results with Facebook ads. I usually spend $100 on Facebook ads and get $1000 worth of work.

A little background on me, I have worked on websites my whole career and have had success. please, note these websites have all been established before I joined.

My BIG issues. I have created a website on WordPress for my new service business. I have poured so much time into it.... I have optimized it for on-page SEO and have done several site audits on Semrush and Ahrefs. My scores are right at 94%. The reason I'm not 100% is because of speed. My speed score is still pretty good at around 90 on page insights. I have spent time doing keyword research and tried to rank for very very low competitive keywords. My DA is 12 and my PA is 17.

I AM NOT RANKING FOR ALMOST ANYTHING

I am ranking for my company name and other than that I am not in the top 10 for anything else.

I am not in a very competitive market. The top dogs have a DA if 25is and pa of 30is and after the top 2 it really goes down. They don't have very much content on their websites.

I am blogging about 3 times a week, going after very low competition keywords. I go into industry forums that give do follow backlinks and make about 4 posts a day on various ones (high DA and PA forums) and go to drop my link and add some comments.

I bought a SEO package in the marketplace from the highest ranked seller and got a report of lots of good backlinks ( a day ago).

I just do not know what else to do to get organic traffic to my local business website... I just want it to generate a couple of leads a month....

Well anyways,,, thanks for taking the time to read my rant and listen to my pains. If you have any suggestions or would like to provide some motivation please reply.

PS,

I do not have any manual action penalty on my website
The website is 2 months and 18 days old.
I know I'm being a baby, but you have no idea how much time I've put into this... It's like my child at this point.
I most definitely have grammar mistakes in this post,,, give me a break.

If you are getting 10x ROI why don't you use fb ads on a large scale?

Thanks for the quick reply. I am going to try and scale the facebook posts for sure. I probably just need to prioritize my time on that. I am just having trouble with my website not performing after all the work I've put into it.

I think the level-headed response would be to just keep building the website and don't expect results from it anytime soon.

It sucks but, I just need to wait it out.

10x ROI is crazy, people would kill for that. So keep doing what you are doing man ^^

DA=12 is very low to be honest. Granted if the site and links are still fresh, some links may not be counted yet, so real DA could be higher, but DA=12 is low and should be at least 20. 25 would be a good target.

This leads me to believe you do not have very strong links to your site. SEO takes a long time, months and years, so it is too early to throw in the towel.

That's the reason why I recommend beginners to stay away from SEO. High risk of failure if you just started out in the beautiful world of Internet Marketing.

And I agree with the others, why bother with SEO for selling your service if you have a good ROI on Facebook Ads?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, that's my goal right now. I have been creating good links and doing competitor research on what links they have. I have created a lot of good quality backlinks. I am just waiting for them to take effect. I am not going to throw in the towel.

Yeah, you are right. When I first started this business I thought I knew everything about SEO. I figured out quick I didn't know as much as I thought haha. I have learned a ton so far and have applied a lot of that knowledge to my M-F job. I am seeing great results on that established website.

I am going to milk the Facebook ads.

Thanks for taking the time to read and reply.

your website is new.

It needs more time. SEO is now a waiting game.

It can be frustrating but it will pay off eventually.

if it is your baby, to be honest I would stay away from buying "good" backlinks. what exactly did you buy?

moreover, how much content did you write? how many articles with how many words each?

having a project that relies on SEO is frustrating if you're impatient. There should really be a thread about this because it's actually pretty relevant - your websites that rely on SEO need to be "on the side". What I mean by that is that it is inevitable that it will take at least 4 - 6 months to rank for a competitive keyword. Usually it takes even longer. You could have the perfect on-page SEO, best backlinks, but your fresh website will NOT rank on the first page for tough keywords for the first few months.

And it kind of makes sense. I'm sure that your competitors' websites are probably 5+ years old, imagine if Google let a 2-month old website with a bunch of SEO packages rank above these legit, aged/trusted businesses? They would lose their reputation of being the best search engine.

My advice is that you should stop focusing so much on this particular website. It's not going to rank fast and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it, unless you know someone important at Google. SEO is a very long-term game and you can't expect money fast. If you want fast money, go into PPC advertising. Sometimes, PPC advertising can be even more profitable than SEO, since SEO is getting pretty expensive.

Please don't give up that easily. you've already taken the first step to achieving it so why give up? ;)

Forget about metrics, focus on KEYWORDS
Also 2 months is no time, stop being a baby (your words), keep building, keep grinding.

2 months and 18 days old? That's nothing in SEO these days!

You're not ranking because you're sand-boxed. Even if you would mimic what #1 guy is doing 100% you still wouldn't rank.

One of my affiliate sites started poring in solid profits after 2 years of almost constant $50 months.

So keep up the good work and turn off your mind when necessary. The problem is that you're in your head too much (personal experience lol)
