i was wondering, do they sandbox articles aswell, let's say from goarticles?

i would like to know how long you were sandboxed and how you got out of it if you did.

There is, well I am going after a keyword for my baby site, which has 180 million results, and 2nd site in list has like 40 backlinks, PR 2, 6k searchs monthly, well ya, as the guy above said, buy a new domain, give it a 1million blast, or give it a 500k blast, and u will see.
 
It really depends on what you mean by sandbox. Most people seem to use the term to mean a penalty for building too many links in too short a time. If that is how you mean it then no I do not believe there is a sandbox. There is no magic number of links that will automatically get you a penalty. Seriously I have seen threads where the person was building 100 links a month and was worried that he had been sandboxed.

Very few people who post about being in a sandbox have gotten penalized in anyway. There is a difference between getting a penalty for breaking the rules and doing badly on a test. Just about every sandbox thread I have read can be attributed to doing badly on Google's test (understanding how the algorithm works) rather than some penalty.

While nobody (including me or I would be way too rich to bother posting here) completely understands Google's algorithm as they go to a lot of trouble to keep it that way. One thing we do know is that it is very complex and uses hundreds of factors at a time to rank your site. What has happened when people whine that they have been sandboxed is that they have overlooked some important ranking factors (done poorly on the test) rather than receive a penalty (being punished) for doing something wrong.

A couple of real common scenarios:

Guy builds a site and a few days later sees that he is on page two for his keyword. Thinks to himself that if he builds a bunch of links he will be on page one. Starts building links and then a couple days later his site has dropped like a rock. Comes to a forum and posts that building too many links will hurt you new site and get you sandboxed.

However the links had nothing to do with the site dropping. A lot of sites, especially in low to moderate competition niches get an initial ranking that is much higher than they deserve while Google figures out where to rank them. These sites are going to drop whether you build links or not. The key here is to realize that any ranking you see in the first couple of months is smoke. It is not something you can count on keeping. Following the day to day or week to week ranking of a new site and stressing about every change will just drive you crazy in most cases.


Another popular case. Guy builds a site, has read that having a lot of links is what he needs to rank well. He buys himself a couple xrumer blasts or scrapebox runs and drops 20k or 30k links to his site and waits for the rankings to come in. Usually he gets a positive boost and then his site drops like a rock. Comes to forum and whines that too many links will get you sandboxed. The problem here is not the number of links as the pattern of the links. He failed to account for some of those other hundreds of factors that Google uses to rank a site. While the number is obviously important it is not the only factor.

In this case think of those sites that go viral and receive possibly millions of links in a very short time and all of a sudden you find them at the top of Google. Their rankings are usually short lived. What happens is that they get all these links really fast, rank really high and then people get bored and move to the next big thing. The links stop coming in and a lot of the existing ones get deleted. They fall almost as fast as they went up. When you build a lot of links to your site, especially a new one or one without an existing link base. That is the pattern you are mimicking and you will get the same result, a peak and then a fall to the bottom. When this happens you are not receiving a penalty for building too many links, you are ranking poorly because you did badly on Google's test by not taking the correct factors into account. You failed the test which is not the same as getting punished for doing something wrong.

The easy way to keep this kind of thing from happening is to make sure that you do not mimic the wrong pattern. Decide how many links you can comfortably build each week and then start at a lower number and increase it every week. The number really does not matter in this case. You can build 10 a day or 10k or more, what matters is that you keep building them steadily and increase the number.


The thought pattern of the sandbox is really the problem for a lot of people. You have to stop thinking that you have been penalized and start thinking that for some reason you have failed a test.

While it may seem that there is not much difference between the two there really is a world of difference. If you think of your ranking problems as caused by failing a test then you start thinking about what you might have done wrong and what you can do better on next time. You can test different methods and try and see what works best. You think about improving your methods. When you are thinking that you have received a penalty you are thinking about trying to stay away from what you think you were penalized for instead looking at it as a problem to be solved.

Sandboxed. This is sad. And funny. When I wrote my previous post I had NO idea... But now I've seen this.

There is a section in google called "site reconsideration". This comes from GOOGLE itself - So how can a thread like this even make sense.
 
Well I believe that the "spamming" method of Xrumer, and other tools has become way too much, there is no peace in your blogs/forums anymore, and the people who use those tools end up negatively , you might end up positive at the start, but later on, negatively, you get sandboxed and etc, Google will sooner or later find out about your site.
The net is not as before.
 
I got one of my sites in sandbox since 2 weeks. Even when i search my exact site name i got some "backlinks pages" in result first...
 
After living with sandbox effect for about two months for my main website, is it just a fairy tale to hear someone saying "there is no sandbox".

I experience this everytime i buld a new site. It ranks kinda high then it drops and even disappears sometimes. Months later it starts to crawl up slowly and reaches first page if i do things right.
