Hey everyone,

I recently changed theme on my affiliate site and rankings of all my keywords are down. Is there anything I can do to get them back? Or shall I wait a few more days.
I was using a free theme back then and now I changed it to premium thrive themes.

P.S. - I've seen a huge drop in traffic and it's been 3 days since rankings are down. I changed my theme about 1.5 weeks back.

Thanks for your suggestions, anyways!

Have you noticed any improvement? I also changed my affiliate site to a thrive theme and noticed a drop but trying to work out if there may be other issues at play as well.

No improvements as yet. Many people have advised me to wait atleast 2 weeks to see the rankings come back.
I hope they're back soon. I'll keep you posted on this :)
Also, thrive themes are completely SEO friendly so I am expecting for rankings to come back ^_^

this drop is usually due to a major change in internal linking which was happening due to widgets and theme's related posts function...give it some time and it might get back.

Reverting to previous theme wont help much anyway

Yeah, I was considering reverting to the older theme... but now I'll just wait and watch :)

Yes that was my initial feeling as my previous theme had a ton of internal links however I am actually happier with my linking strucutre and page depth with the thrive theme. I also saw a number of people report drops around the same time which has made me question weather it was the theme change at all. Guess will just have to give it a bit more time to wait and see.

Check if the theme got any internal SEO related options, sometimes the theme itself got few SEO optimizations which will conflict with your SEO plugin and cause a mess.

Open the page with moz, and check the page meta data, and verify it is as you wanted it to be, not changed, also did you change only the design ??, are you sure nothing else changed ??

If only the theme, then it maybe it is something internal, however do NOT revert to the older theme untill you know what it going on, because if you do, you'll even lose more ranking.

It should come back. I recently had this experience where I changed the theme I did not suffered a major drop but there were some kws that dropped and they actually came back stronger and now ranking higher than it were previously.

Weird, I have changed my sites themes many times and never had ranking drop issue. It must be linking issue.

Potentially, something is defintiely causing large flucations and I'm still seeing a Google Dance a week later. Out of interest @Akshay Sapra what is the backlink profile of your effected affiliate site link? I purchased a link package from BHW but that was almost 2 years ago with many of those links now expired/dropped so I don't think that is the issue. I did carry out a lot of link building before christmas, submitting guest blog posts but they were all to relevant blogs in my niche so would be surprised to get penalised for those but they may still be the cause of the dance.

Hmm... I don't know. I recently also changed theme on my other site from free to a premium genesis and it's still ranking good.
Maybe just now let's wait for 2 weeks and see what happens.

1 week is a very little time. Let's observe it for another 2 weeks at most.
I have some diversity links and web 2.0 only. Nothing else. I don't think it's a penalty because then there would have been a very major drop.
My rankings are gone from #1 to #10-#15 at most. Let's just wait and see ;)

This is something new. You changed the theme before 10 days and you find drop in last 3 days. Check out your backlink sites that gives the juice.

Thats Crazy dude im sorry to hear that, But you should check you wasnt using the original free theme's intergrated seo settings as this could be the issue.
