The surprising truth about what motivates us

That's so cool. I find it applies to me and explains some of my motivational issues. Thanks for sharing :D

Me too, the guy who showed me did so 1 day after I was complaining about how I can't focus on anything long enough to see any rewards even though I "should" be able to put my knowledge to work. We work at the same company and when they showed the evil profit balloon, I instantly thought of my boss :P

It's mainly because people are just lazy. It's how we naturally think... we don't want to wait, we want results immediately, or else we think the method is bad.

I am deff lazy. But I need to focus more on a single method rather than get sidetracked with the newest thing over and over and over

That guy is really good at drawing with a dry erase marker.

I agree with this video. Just look at happened with banks, they had so much shit poor performance based on incentive bonuses, that they needed to borrow 1 trillion dollars fromt he government.

Wow, that was perfect. An amazing animator (wish I could draw like that, lol) and great ideas. And I can't even imagine where he got a white board that big :D

Thanks for sharing that! Amazing video. It makes sense why many are failing in IM at first when focusing on get rich quick schemes

been having some motivation issues lately,

i really needed that :)

I'm gonna watch it again and try to make some kind of plan for myself and try to stick to that.. Even now its hard for me to pick 1 or 2 things and not keep scanning for the newest and best ideas.

off topic but i thought it wasnt okay to have 'youtube' in your domain?

Maybe affiliated with yt. A friend sent me the link anyway, I don't really frequent the site because it would kill my time use even more :P

This is a quote directly from their site..

"This website is not affiliated with YouTube.com in any way."

I wonder why they get that domain as well..

What the fuck is the federal reserve doing funding studies like that? God I hate the federal resevre. (not bashing the study, I just hate the fed) Anyway, I am sure those scum who run the fed were horrified by the results, seeing that people are not total slaves to their monetary system..

Anyway, this video is 100% true for me, the more money I can make, the less motivation I have to do work. Humans are made this way, money is not natural. Most of us would be perfectlly happy to contribute to society a little for free if we all had our own land and was left alone(and could grow weed!). Just think about how counter productive capitalism is now. What makes you the most money? The shady shit that serves no one any purpose, like free trial scams etc. Thats ALL you see on the internet now! The same shit is true in real life, the shady people win, thats why microsoft is partners with loudmo(adware) and why Obama said he was gonna end the war but has expanded it. Again, everything is shady, just turn on TV and youll see ben stein promoting FreeScore which is complete fraud. Imagine if we eliminated all the bullshit industries, banking, advertising etc, there would be little work left to do besides the important shit like growing food and building roads doesnt require that many people with technology. If we did that shit, life would be so much easier... I am not saying communism or a dictator or any of that shit, I am just saying people can do it by themselves.

Think about it, as technology increases, machines do more work for us so we dont have to work, but our world is backwards so in a capitalist society, machines doing jobs for humans is bad because it takes jobs. How retarded is that? We have become to efficient for capitalism, we cant solve unemployment. Why make new jobs when there already is enough people doing shit?

I agree with all of that. I was just saying something to a friend of mine the other day.. about how people who bend the "rules" a little - are way ahead of many people who play by the "rules"

also I was looking for this vid to rewatch again and forgot i posted it here,
