The best place to live

I have been watching some places and movies on the internet and i'm right now interested in LA, NY and Miami.

All three are good schools.

I can't speak much for LA since Ive only been there a few times.

NY is very close to me and Miami is a good days drive. It really depends on your personality and what you value more.

Miami is cheaper, much better weather, no state income tax, if you like the outdoors and beaches you will like it. $5/k will do you fine, you won't be a king but more than comfortable. I got a airbnb'd a condo for $1,400/ month in South beach last year. The downsides are the people, Miami has lot's of very superficial uneducated people (IMO). Crime is pretty bad too in Miami proper, looks like a 3rd world country in some parts.

Now NY, is very different, better schools, high cost of living, people are more ambitious and educated. $5,000 in the city is not much, you will be barely making it. Weather kinda sucks, you get the 4 seasons which is nice though.

At your age, you may like Austin, Texas. Lots of young people, you would be very comfortable on your budget, more so than any of the cities listed above. They have good schools, low taxes, and it's far from what you probably think of Texas as. Austin is a very liberal city which is growing rapidly.

Denver, Colorado is also another you may like.

First, good for you...more people should study abroad...best thing I ever did.

If you like to travel, then stick to Western Europe or SE Asia. The US is great as well...and the advantage it may have is that many schools will give scholarships (even partial) to international students. Why? They value diversity, and having people from other cultures enriches the learning experience for everyone.

Generally speaking, state schools are less expensive and have more funding. But applications to universities in the US will have at least a $50 fee, so narrow down your state and city, then apply to about five and see what they can offer an international student.

Keep the dream alive...you'll never forget the experience, and if you're pretty skilled and make connections (instead of just partying all the time), you might even get an H1B to work in the US after college.

I'm thinking of making a move to Barcelona around June / July. I've heard it's pretty awesome and inexpensive... Does anyone live there, or has anyone?

Can someone if have time to say what he thinks about these and some information's on the education system there and what's cool and what's not...

I'll try to make some search on google about them and see what can i find out, but its better if someone who has been to those cities and tell me the truth.

Thanks for all your help so far guys.

I live in LA , you can definitely live comfortably with a 5k budget. Never went to college but there is plenty schools to choose from if thats what you want to do. Everything you need in life is in this city, also it never rains so if you like the sun then its perfect for you. Get yourself a medical card or a pot dealer on craigslist once your here and your set.

If I were 17 again with my mindset today and your already existing income now, I'd look into further studies in your country and make your business a group of limited companies. Find a good accountant that will help you figure out a tax strategy that will minimise your future tax liabilities.

At 5k a month, that income should already belong to your corporation. Unless, your individual and corporation tax rates are very different than here in the UK. So, in the future work out a strategy that can enable you to live anywhere, pay no taxes and enjoy life.
If online business is your thing, you could try developing software. Software developers and service providers are very good in business. app development and eproducts can be good, too

Where you have the people you love.

I'd much rather live with the people I love than at the Hawaii or places like that.

If you look at some of the "top 10 best countries to live" lists, the only English speaking countries on the list are Canada and Australia. If you don't want to go through the hassle of learning a new language, one of these 2 countries is what I'd suggest.

for business and economics, you should go for USA and target the best universities- top 20. take a look at the rankings - Businessweek, FT rankings, US news and you will find the top ranking universities.

If you want to have a peaceful yet colourful life, I may invite you to visit GOA in India. The entire state is full of beaches and resorts. You will love it. A little money of yours is needed for this this big city. Just try on

I think Canada is good, but I don't really agree with Australia being a good place, but...I'm definitely not in a position to say that cause I've never been there yet. But I think Australians are pretty shitty in general, and I heard that the cost of living is pretty damn high too.

I've been there several times and also lived there for over 4 years.

I can tell you from first hand experience, Australia is a fantastic place to live, the quality of life is superb and Australians are not shitty people.

School and college life is one most precious life which become remarkable. I would say go to turkey, you will get a decent life including tuition fees for 20k/year. Chicks in turkey are hot, weather is good too, there are lots of club and good places to visit. You can enjoy your life there.

P.s: You can easily visit any Europe and British country's at cheapest cost while having an identity of turkey.

Why don't you travel around the world? Assuming you've got a nice passport (USA, Sweden, etc.) you could as well spend some years going from place to place.

Well, if it's for you. If you want to settle down and get insanely rich...that'd be a choice too.

I'm up for the first, and i'll do that this summer. :)

This is a Great idea

Yes it is.

go to developing countries where you can take advantage on the exchange rate.

$5000 is not a big deal in developed countries, but you can live like a king with that amount in the developing ones

Yeah, but developing countries are still developing lol, with that in mind i don't want to go to a place where the average IQ is the number of my shoes.

All three are good schools.

Those days i'm really interested in NY and LA. Hope my incomes will increase till the time to live there and will have no problems with money and live and study comfortably.

Thanks.

I've been only on a vacation from school few days, pretty good places but i cannot talk about the people or the education because i stayed only few days there.

Sounds perfect! And i really like LA from what i can see from the internet, option plus is the weather and the pretty good beaches.

Looks like my best bet right now.

Thanks for your reply, but i'm pretty much into moving to another country and not staying here.

Nothing personal, i just want to try live and study abroad.

I don't like them both. I have never been there, but from what can i see from the internet it's pretty boring there isn't it?

well I think seaside is ok,anyway ,wish you could find your heaven.

Thank you.

Just take 1 year and go traveling around the world, with those $5000 you will not have any problem doing that.
And after 1 year in lots of country for sure you will have a good idea where you want to live

That's my plan! :)

I'm aiming at USA right now, but the end will speak for itself.

Have just checked GOA on the internet, looks like a good place with a lot of beaches and peaceful. But can you tell me more about the people and the main language spoken there?

How are people oriented?
Any English talking school?

I'm not pretty much into AU or CA, don't know why but i don't like them.

That's why i want to study abroad, try new things, create myself as a better person, try to live without the family and much more.

Never thought about Turkey, will probably visit it this summer to see how's going up.

Anyways, what about the criminal rate in Turkey? I'm not sure where i read that its pretty bad? Correct me if i'm wrong.

Thanks for all your replays guys, really appreciating and i read every single one of them.
Open for more.

Come here in Philippines, by $5000 a month you are almost a millionaire here.

You have access to 7k islands, tons of beach, great women and a good education system if you want that. Awesome people too!

When it comes to going to America for studying, you need to check out with a immigration lawyer about what you can and cannot do with IM. The U.S. is very strict when it comes to students working due to its culture of "Immigration being about hard work" but other countries are not so much strict they just prefer you be law abiding and be a net tax contributor.

I live in Italy atm I really like the climate, hot women and best food of the world here :D
The only problem in Italy is that is becoming very expensive to live off and also economics and politics are corrupted as hell.
I'd like to move to Asia/Vietnam etc in future (more working and growing opportunities), many internet entrepreneurs live there and cost of life is cheap.
I'd suggest you to do 6 months of travelling around the world and then see which is the best place for you where to live.
