TL;DR AT BOTTOM AS ALWAYS
If you read my urgent advice needed and my learning to enjoy the sun threads, hi again! Before, I was quite concerned on whether or not I would end up in a precarious situation. I was able to earn a sizable amount of money, but I decided against a car. Primarily because I couldn't justify the cost of not only the vehicle, but also the lessons. After much deliberation, I decided to take a leap for myself and move 1k+ miles across the country to live in a different environment with better pay and opportunities. I don't own much. I never have, so my two suitcases and I are going on a journey. I have enough money to live for about 3 to 4 months without a job. I have applied to several places in the area and I'm talking to a few. I'll be going on the 16th. I already have my long term rental booked and once I have proof of my employment (will be working two jobs), I will be able to apply for some studio apartments or be a roommate using the site that was recommended to me. Worst case scenario, I fly back in August and rent my friend's old room when he goes off to college for $600/month. My jobs says I will still be rehireable when I leave, so I'll have a place to return to. I have enough money to survive until then, so I don't see a loss in that situation quite frankly. It's a risk I'm willing to take.
Thank you @uncutu for giving me the website roomies and for telling me to seek higher paying employment. All the jobs I'm talking to right now are significantly higher paying than what I was making and while nothing is guaranteed, I'd say I'm better prepared. With what I see now, two jobs that pay higher than my old one will bring in more than $1.5k a month I can assure you of that. Thank you @710fla because in my frustration and panic, I forgot about Airbnb and their long term discounts. That realization grounded me a bit. Thanks @jadsn for the trade school alternative. That's definitely my plan B. Thank you to everyone else who helped as well, but I don't want to overtag this post. You were all tremendously helpful and I am grateful for everyone who took the time to respond.
I'm 19 now and my life has changed immensely since that thread. I have been more dialed in than ever before. My fitness is better, my diet is better, I found a new girlfriend that isn't mentally ill and understands my situation thoroughly, I've been more focusedc consistent, and determined than ever before, etc etc. If everything in my new city works out well, I'll be opening a new journey thread because I'll finally be able to afford to do IM. I feel like my life is taking a turn for the better and I'll be able to live life for myself, making my own decisions. I vehemently believe that this will be one of the events that will lead me to my eventual success- the success I've dreamed about since I was a little kid. I won't harp on this topic too much, but I'm fairly elated about this new direction my life is taking and I want to be here to update you all on how my life unfolds. I think about this forum a lot because it was one of the first useful IM websites I stumbled upon and reading up on all the posts here as a young teen has greatly shaped who I am. One day, when I fit the requirements and can reasonably afford it, I'll be jr.vip has a way to give back. THANK YOU, BHW COMMUNITY!!
I would also like to pose one last question. Has BHW changed your life? If so how? I saw a thread about this dating back to 2014 and that was quite a while ago, so I'm sure there are some stories that have transpired in that time gap. Feel free to share below! I'm highly curious,
TL;DR: I WILL NOT BE HOMELESS AND I BELIEVE THE ADVICE YOU ALL PROVIDED HAS GREATLY BENEFITED ME AND I AM GRATEFUL FOR IT!!
