Hi BHW,

I created a new Telegram channel and I’m trying to enable Stars for paid posts, but I don’t see any “Monetization” tab or option to set Star pricing when uploading content.

Details:
  • It’s a proper broadcast channel, not a group
  • I see “Boosts,” “Reactions,” and “Subscriptions” in settings
  • I do NOT see “Monetization” or “Statistics”
  • Channel currently has 2 subscribers
  • Account registered with both Taiwanese and Canadian numbers (tested both)
  • Tried on iOS, desktop app from http://telegram.org/, and web version
  • Telegram app is updated
Is Stars activation dependent on:
  • Minimum subscriber count?
  • Channel age?
  • Region?
  • Manual approval?
Or is this just a phased rollout?

Would appreciate insight from anyone who had Stars appear later or had to meet certain requirements first.

Thanks in advance!

Stars monetization has a few hidden requirements that aren't well documented:

1. **Subscriber threshold** - Most reports say you need at least 500-1000 subscribers before the Monetization tab appears. 2 subs won't cut it.

2. **Channel age** - Generally needs to be at least 30 days old with consistent activity.

3. **Region** - Taiwan and Canada should both be fine, but some GEOs are excluded. The bot @botfather can give you regional restrictions if you check.

4. **Content type** - Channels focused on certain content categories (adult, crypto, etc.) may face additional delays or restrictions.

The fastest path: get your subscriber count up to 500+ organically or with engagement groups, keep posting regularly, and check back in 2-3 weeks. The tab usually just appears one day without notification.

If you're in a hurry, some people report success reaching out to @TelegramStars or checking their Telegram Business support (if available in your region).
Amazing, thank you for the thorough reply - I will try this.
