lol even I made a little money off of Merch and teespring, but it sucked for me. Peddling stupid corny t-shirts to people is just not my thing. Do something you love unless you know you can make a living off it.
It takes 10 minutes to create a simple design with text only (and sometimes the built in clip art) and post a link in your Instagram bio on a page that has a big cult-like following.
Look.... This took 5 minutes:
I started Merch in February this year. Made 2000$ of revenue(also I had a lot of scam sellers on my listings) in my first month(around 900$ profit). All my shirts were priced around 20$, also this method doesn't require any payment from users. The margins are low but the process to upload a design on multiple items is really fast, also OP mentioned the real money makers are Sweatshirts/Hoodies you can earn around 10$ per sale which is amazing and the price of 35.99$+4$ shipping is near to the average price of novelty hoodies. Learn a little bit about BSR on amazon and you will see how much is selling.
Go hate anywhere else or try it!

I agree, even if he did make that much he probably spent $3000 on shoutouts and fb ads. This reminds me of the whole shopify bs . Making $2 on a $20 tshirt is nothing to brag about...

I think you're missing the point. Yes, while making $2 on a $20 tshirt is nothing to brag about, look at the other pluses..
No stock/inventory you have to manage
No shipping required on your part
No upfront money needed to start
Lets say you build enough listings to sell around 100 shirts a day, that's 200 bucks a day.. Even if you have to have thousands of listings to accomplish that, still gotta factor in the pluses. And there is room to grow and scale everything up in many of ways.
Clearly making 2 bucks on a 20 dollar sale seems small when you think about it from a small scope. There is a lot of potential for anyone to start here and with work grow into a full time living.

I think the issue here is that everyone is looking at it from a different perspective ... I'm saying this method is great if you have a social media following that is highly engaged and in the market for tshirts... I, for one, have been selling on teespring for months.. nothing earth shattering but it's great if your audience is the t-shirt buying type.
With the integration with Amazon it opens up a whole new world to explore and selling on Amazon with no customers, no inventory, literally nothing to deal with outside of creating t-shirt designs sounds awful juicy to me. I make a $10 profit off each tee when I sell them thru my Teespring store... Amazon will cut it down to $3-4 off a tshirt (if I sell a hoodie I'll make $10 on Amazon) BUT Amazon will also bring a shit ton more of traffic.
Why does it seem so impossible to people that one single tshirt design could net you a few thousand shirt sales at a $3-$10 profit (it's happening, go look) ... Now what if you have 5, 10, 15, 20 other awesome tees that also sell into the thousands?
Too many people around here with no vision. Most of you guys don't see the big picture or you see the big picture but you realize how much ACTUAL work it's gonna take to get there... So whatever, the customers are waiting... good luck getting to them before me.

I thought this is an IM forum, people with over 400 posts leave bullshit comments on really good methods which obviously need a little bit effort and I'm not just talking about this merch stuff. Just wondering what's all the posts about. I call me unexperienced in IM but seems like above some average since I do and try before complaining.
Why should they? They make a lot of profit through sales and you set your own profit.

I've been in the T shirt game since jan this year and have only made £12, it's not as easy as it sounds unfortunately.
I'm only on redbubble though, havent been accepted to merch. I'll try out this teespring as a merch alternative and report back.

I'm still having issues integrating it with Amazon. The globe icon says "not tipped" I've tried looking it up can't find an explanation. I've emailed them no response after 4 days. Should I email again or just wait?
