So I see we get tons and tons of automated spam every day and most of them have a common pattern: the thread title is a fully qualified URL including protocol, ex: http://example.com

Solution: Make the forum software automatically deny threads whose title consist of a full URL (starting with http or https as stated above), I'm sure this would save the moderators a lot of time as most spam threads would never get posted.

It takes a couple of seconds to ban each spam account and I'm usually online around the time it happens, though sometimes I get distracted when I have to respond to a thread. ;)

Anyway, I considered bringing this up to the admins in the past, but I never got around to it. The idea I was going to suggest was to block members from using protocols in their thread titles, but this might restrict certain discussions on site migration. I suppose a filter that detects and blocks full URLs (http://sitename.com) would be better, but I'm not in charge of implementing those types of features on this forum.

There were other suggestions I was going to make as well, but I'm not going to go into detail about those.

Congrats on 10K likes! :)
