This used to be amazing, but I have bad news: this is not a great idea any more. It has been tested and now is not what it used to be. According to the guidelines, that are the real grail of SEO, you can observe, that footers are considered a secondary content + the fact that the link is way in the bottom, renders ~0 link juice.
For example, when I buy an expiring domain from an agency with high DA/DR I always check if most of their links come from this (the footer), and in that case, I dismiss the domain. If you could do this, the perfect scenario would be, an indexable inner page, maybe linked from the footer, it doesnt matter, but sitemapped, with some specific content about you agency (like a little 300 words unique article) and a ******** link in the main content. But I'm not sure how some clients may take this approach... Could be a little intimidating.
