Sudden Ranked Drop? Google Algo Update?

Yes, i went from top 3 to nowhere, after manual crawl request on GSC i went to the same position, stay 1 day and again disappeared. Same move after few days with same results.

Really totally strange. I still cannot find any pattern of excluded pages/keywords. Don’t know whether they test something or they really have traffic caps caused due to lower authority or whatsoever.

I’m thinking of a relaunch (90% of my sites content is car / automotive but there is also some food and tech content online since I started a very “open” blog a year ago). Would it be possible to move the car content to a new site, only related to cars with better structure and navigation (also slight content improvements for instance sources and tables/charts for various articles) and to point 301s from the old domain? Is it clever to still let the old content online or would a “hard 301” via htaccess in combination with a complete shutdown of the old page be the better way?

Im thankful for every hint from somebody with relaunch/migration experience!

I am noticing drops on some sites but not others , I am seeing significant drops on sites that have RD from multiple Web 2's but I keep seeing my authority sites raising in rank. Interesting SERP movement to say the least .
 
This shit's really annoying. I just recovered from the stupid November update and my rankings started to rise again in December and then google pull's another algorithm update. I'm seeing garbage websites outranking me, forum posts, etc.

What have you done, We also hit by google november update but till now no improvement lost around 70%

Just continue publishing new content out. My content is a lot better then my competitors so over time I retake most of my rankings, however, this update now just reset everything and I guess I will have to start over again :mad::mad:
 
Sites are suddenly taking off as of today that were hit in December.

It's like they left the ranking index and then came back.
 
Shoot again today on one of my website that got destroyed during december patch.

Google serps for the KWs i was targeting are now full of parasites.

It doesn't make any sense.
 
History:
1st hit on 17th dec -> traffic -90% (based on 15th dec)
6th and 7th jan -> traffic little bit up... but still -60% compared to the 15th dec

I changed nothing... still waiting for "something"

at least you are at -60%
one my important site still -80% since 17 dec

You are right, but tomorrow a decrease is also possible. That is NOT a stable traffic.

And the time on site is still -30% same similar bad value for the bounce rate. Google ranks my website for totallly weird keywords.
 
My traffic just seemed to be recovering but since yesterday I'm losing even more rankings.
 
On my side, the websites without any updates in the last 1 year has been increasing in ranking, the good ones with daily updates got a drop with -50%

maybe a "trusted content" update?
 
For one specific query, not related to my domains, I get first 7 out of 10 results with books.google.com! Also, there's no value at all in those results for what I've searched.
 
Mine came back up after 3 weeks. I edited a few contents, did a Request Indexing via Search Console (some user a few pages back did something similar and I followed), and the keyword rankings went back up. Hope no more surprises in the new year.
