Sudden Ranked Drop? Google Algo Update?

Big hit right here increasing all of my high competition keywords lol. (New Website)

Okay this is really strange. Independent small websites are not good for ranking anymore, even if they're relevant have legit backlinks and traffic. And a random medium article or facebook page gets rank higher with zero traffic and relevance. It doesn't make any sense to me.

So, yeah, after this hit, for me is clearly, brand and time, a lot of time will be the right key.

And meanwhile, testing and testing and burning domain after domain.

guys , i think it should be sorted out eventually
i don't believe this is what they want - my site is ranking now for totally unrelevant crappy keywords

Mine actually started ranking after this update a bit.
Maybe just the time has come for it to rank.
Oh, and a few keywords jump up and down +-50 positions every day LOL

Hello.
The fall led me to this forum.
I have about 200 satellites, and about half of the sites traffic fell by 50-90%, some sites weren’t affected, and some traffic increased on the contrary.
This all happened simultaneously on December 17th. :weep:

PS
Sorry for my English, I communicate through a translator

Top tech keywords from really good sites are down and replaced by reddit and quora posts.

Some of the best content has gone off the radar

Okay, so only one out of about 10 websites of mine actually dropped insane rank positions, and guess what? Only one inner page on said site dropped, and that inner-page had a 301 pointed at it. To me, this has to do with 301s. Not all of them maybe, but still.

And about it being affiliate sites getting hit: Couldn't be further from the truth in my case.

@Renfield-Files - You're in the adult niche + SEO, right? Seen any crazy changes?

From everything I've read here, the thing that's standing out is 301's. They are very often improperly used.

I'm 90% sure this is related to 301's. They are risky at the best of times.

My rankings too dropped a bit hence im on bhw after long time to find a company that can help me recover

Me and many others don't use 301s and got hit just the same.

Are you using an expired domain?

Fucking Google. How many income sources did it wipe out with this one update before new year? I hope karma bites them back and they get hit by multiple antitrust lawsuits

Get a grip. They are a company in business to serve their users what their users want and monetize the process.

Imagine you're running your site, and some guy keeps spamming you in the comments section. You take action to block him, then he curses you saying you're evil for wiping out his income source and he hopes you get hit with lawsuits.

You see the irony?

You are manipulating the search engines for your own gain. They will do what is best for their business, and rightly full, since it's what we ALL do.

If you play the game, you have to be willing to lose.

no 301s on all affected sites

Yeah, but there are websites which have 301 in place and they didn't get hit.. how wouldn't you explain that?

This update is NOT related to 301 redirect sites only! Some of my sites which got hit didn't have any 301 domain pointing to them, nor were expired domains.

There are multiple factors which affected serp drops, maybe 301 is just one of many. from reading all pages of this thread, no one still knows what exactly caused sites getting penalized.

To me, it looks like Google's algorithm just randomly was choosing sites to penalize. Maybe they think "Oh, there are tons of websites for any kind of topic in the SERPs, let's just randomly remove 50% of them" .

There is no any logical explanations what exactly caused sites to drop. Google own their search pages, they can simply play with it how they like. And it looks just like that, they are playing chess with our websites and we can't do anything about it.
Yes we can, pay to Adwords and it will be on spot 1. And that's what they want probably with this, to make money from us.

google not doing this well they are but it google AI.

Google want all the shit gone.

Google is involved in other adventures testing them and yes affect everybody.

but the updates are very often now because of AI

I am 100% sure marketing is bringing it to the people not waiting to be seen.

dominating your niche in websites much better than waiting for google traffic.

SEO there more downs than ups.

Google seems to randomly show what it wants not on stats or methods or strategies no more, I am not saying it's impossible to SEO just say it changed since Ai here now ...

Google will always now throw a spanner in the woods to show their advertisers are important on all niches loads of jumping around, the Ai make sure of that full stop

your website got to be very informative and real written content with proof these days.

any shitty backlinks your out .

when doing articles make sure it can be referenced to a real proof, same with video and images original but showing proof your way.

the more in depth and specific you are the better value .

one last thing.

it not the length or size of something like video, images, articles, it the way it is shown to demonstrate truthfulness and proof.

quilty not quantity

Its funny how people are trying to jump into conclusions saying "Oh, it has something to do with expired domains" or "Its because of 301s redirects". No, its not. Stop misleading people. The truth is nobody has a clue what is going on. Only Google themselves know (well, maybe) and they keep silence like always.

I had all kinda websites with expired domains, fresh domains, 301 redirects and without, different niches, on different hosting, with SSL or without, with tons of content and with only 5 pages etc. etc. they randomly got hit. Even two sites I didn't build a single backlink to got hit. There is nothing in common...just read through all the thread and you will find it.

remember google only an indexer of links, their many websites better than google, google as a website is boaring, people these days go straight to websites they want to view, so it best having your website indexed in these websites like, facebook , tweeter, Pinterest and others .

many people don't use google no more to go to a known website they go directly, this is why google got to shuffle there algo to get ppl to panic and advertisers get different traffic source

it business sorry .

301 IS ONLY A LINK FROM A DOMAIN HAS NOTHINK TO DO WITH GOOGLE ALGO ....

Google is the best for ROI.

For example, people coming from Facebook ads, groups or pages don't like to click ads or offers, or buy anything, coz they are either using their mobile app browser or are bots.
