Sudden Ranked Drop? Google Algo Update?

Okay, so only one out of about 10 websites of mine actually dropped insane rank positions, and guess what? Only one inner page on said site dropped, and that inner-page had a 301 pointed at it. To me, this has to do with 301s. Not all of them maybe, but still.

And about it being affiliate sites getting hit: Couldn't be further from the truth in my case.

@Renfield-Files - You're in the adult niche + SEO, right? Seen any crazy changes?

Me and many others don't use 301s and got hit just the same.

Yeah, so bert is rolling out, adult sites are targeted hard, including celebs ones, images ones, anything related to p0rn or xxx words.

This is what the new CEO planned from start, to filter all adult shit from G.

Those guys are crazy, they really want to lose 60% of search daily.

Since the big update from summer, G got a shit ton of bug's, and they still make updates to hunt sites instead fixing those bugs.

Yep, this is what it looks like from my observations, we are slowly being pushed out and Magazine, Newspaper, Vice, Youtube, Pinterest are replacing us unless you are chaturbate, or xnxx etc you are being pushed out or dropping significant amounts of traffic

Still odd that only one out of 10 sites dropped rank positions, and only one inner-page on said site, that had the 301. Can't see any other correlation anywhere.

Let's say the site had 15 pages that are all ranking for their main keyword in top 3. Only one of these pages dropped to 100 (the rest stayed the same), and that was the inner-page with the 301.

Sure there wasn't a 301 on it since before you got the domain, or something?

Both new and expired domain were affected. One keyword bounched back to #5. The rest is... I just don't want to cry. 400k search.
Which site bounced back? Was it the expired domain or the new site?

Adult here, a lot of traffic came back today.

My traffic is increasing a bit. Main keywords appeared on #30-40. Lets see how this goes. Honestly, it could be anything.

Another idea:

I'm wondering if only affiliate websites got hit? The sites with very little amount of info articles...

Can anyone confirm that their website full of informational articles and only few aff articles got hit too?

100% info site, no affiliate links. Still got hit.

This feels like more than EAT. If it was EAT why would I go from 1-3 all the way down to 60-90. Most of those websites are way less credible than mine. If I dropped to the 2nd page or high 1st page it would make more sense.

Sites less credible according to who? From what I've seen this is an "EAT" tweak. What I've noticed is sites without complete terms of service, privacy policy, about us, and contact us pages got hit. Also sites with GMBs (including affiliates) got a boost.

This happened to me and it changed everything for one of my main sites. Its driving me nuts trying to figure it out and read. Sometimes I feel like I can't input anymore new information into my brain lol

My sites got a huge boost in early December. Prior to that I was riding out a 1.5 year shitstorm. No idea why I was hit as I do whitehat only and no link building, but back to normal now. 4-5 year old ecommerce domains.

Your websites are at Google's mercy and there's no quick fix. I'd recommend being patient for now.

All my sites have all of those pages and not just fluff on the about, contact and author bios, but they still got hit. Obviously there could be multiple factors at play, and it probably is.

Guys , I am sure this is algorithmic update and is to deal with anchor ratios . 2 of my sites that got hit were EMD s and had more than normal exact match anchors , some other sites I noticed which were down also had this ptoblem
Yes same here and websites following silo structure got huge boost.

All my sites had contact us, privacy policy, disclaimer, about us and other legal pages. Still half of them got hit. Websites also have ssl certificate.

Dropped 74 for one keyword, 18 for another, and another just dropped. I rank for over 200 keywords.

The update is on, lucky site which seemed not touched -50% traffic today
