Whatsup BHW,

I've seen threads in this section saying "Is $50 or $200 or $500 enough to do Facebook ads or Native ads... etc.?" or something to that effect. Here is where I am at right now.. I've been on the forum for YEARS and read THOUSANDS of threads. I am still in college and have been saving thousands of dollars the last couple years to have some starting bread for something like PPC + CPA. I just finished reading Charles Ngo's ultimate affiliate guide and there are some good tips in there.

I have a few questions that I've tried searching for and haven't found anything solid in response.

1. I would love if anyone has some successful IM journeys about CPA + Ads from the forum bookmarked that they could link. That way I could dive into some other's experience in the field. I've been reading through a lot of journeys and most never seem to be completed. ex "100/day goal or 1000/week goal"

(would love to have a "Completed Journey" section added to journeys section)

2. Is a forum like "Stack That Money" worth it for affiliate marketers and should I join it for their $99/month fee (of course I could probably get a lot of great info off this forum which is why I haven't joined STM yet) Curious if the information in there is worth it for me to have successful campaigns to minimize mistakes and maximize optimization.

3. Tracking software like voluum is $300/month is this necessary as an upfront cost? (this is what Charles Ngo recommends) For example Charles talks about setting a monthly budget. Let's say I have a 1k monthly budget. $300 goes to voluum for tracking. $100 goes towards domains + hosting leaving $600 to spend testing ads. I run 5-10 campaigns a day with each a $5 budget ($50-100/daily) that would run out in about 5-10 days unless I start profiting or breaking even I could go an extra few days testing.

4. It seems like you need at least 2-3k/month to really test properly & even at the end could still wind up 3k in the hole. What kind of budget were you working with when you first started and did you have the necessary skills to optimize and create quality content before starting? Is it possible to start profiting your first month after testing 50 or so LP's/ angles?

5. I'm debating if I should use the money I have saved to dive into CPA + ads or if I should work on building a site similar to 10beasts.com where I write tons of content with SEO methods and try to rank it within a few months?(This would probably takes months of content writing) Just like the owner of 10beasts, I also study computer science and have a passion for tech. I could probably go on ahrefs to find some good niches to write about. I'm really not sure what I want to do with my time and money.

Would love to hear some input on any of the two method's you might have had success with.

****Side note****** I did IG + CPA in the past and started from rock bottom with it. I was using DEADZ guide and did the absolute most simple "free followers" niche. I had at my best about 60 accounts running and was earning around $20/day with an 8$/daily overhead. However that $20/day lasted about 2-3 weeks and then it started falling apart once my accounts started getting banned. In that process I learned A TON about optimizing my landing page, content writing, optimizing lockers etc. Overall I think I spent $2000 on the whole journey and made about $1600 total. It was a great learning experience, but I was not a fan of the IG method of driving traffic and would like to stay away from it for a while.

One thing I appreciated about DEADZ guide was it actually worked for me. I found it, thought it had a chance of succeeding and I did have success with it. I may not have hit 100/day with it but I probably could have if I focused a little more.

In effect, I think that past CPA experience will benefit me if I decide to pursue CPA + Ads because I can design my own landing pages, & come up with content writing / split testing angles etc. and I know some tips and tricks for optimizing a little better.

(I've been coding & doing graphic design the last 3 years too)

In conclusion,

I don't think CPA + Ads are a gimmick. I truly believe it can be a profitable method based off what I've done in the past with CPA, seeing live earnings on CPA networks & everything I've read and seen when it comes to running ad campaigns. To be completely honest I don't even know who is telling the truth any more when it comes to success with certain methods. It seems like everyone just wants to make a buck off you. I did enjoy the Charles Ngo guide. Found some helpful advice in there. Obviously some specifics were left out but that's why I need to experiment myself.

TL;DR - 1. Post some good completed IM journeys of people who did CPA + Ads
2. Should I pay $300 for tracking software upfront.
3. Should I join a "affiliate marketing forum" for 99$/month
4. How much did you spend on CPA + Ads before giving up or profiting? is 1k/month decent budget?
5. Would you prefer doing something like an amazon affiliate site with SEO over CPA + Ads?
(Read a cool case study about 10beasts.com)

Thankyou for reading all this.

I am willing to trade design services for some more specialized advice in CPA + Ads. If you are interested send me a DM.

Bump can someone move this to a section I might be able to get some responses?

Never started a journey about it, but I've had some success with CPA + AdWords.
Not going to link a journey either since it's hard to tell which ones are real.
It's a myth that you need 1000's of dollars saved up to start properly, unless you plan on losing it... which is the wrong mentality.
There are various sellers on BHW where you can get 450$ worth of AdWords credit for 50$ or so. All in all, it's important how well you know PPC and how good you are at competitor research. You shouldn't try to reinvent the wheel, just copy what works and twist it for your offer.

There's free tracking software out there, but I'm not going to spoonfeed that one to you since a simple Google search will do.
Don't pay for keyword tools either, there's the free Keywords Everywhere extension.
Google's Keyword Planner is also completely free.
Don't waste your money on forums that want money from you just to be there. It's as fishy as those gurus making millions of dollars but then selling 30$ courses to you. The people who actually make at least 450K/year with PPC + CPA don't have time to sell shit to you.

That's all.

Is it true that Adwords is just one delivery network for ads or is all CPA ad marketing done through Adsense? For example if I ran ads on pornhub, would that go through adsense too? I'll have to research more about ad delivery but I was reading through Charles Ngo's ultimate affiliate guide and he was saying something about placing ads on different sites makes a difference. Not sure if this is a customizable feature on Adwords. I'm a huge skeptic about "Guru's" I don't follow any but I did come across Ngo's guide and had some helpful tips in there.

Right now I see myself getting a month subscription to Adplexity to research what is working like you said and split test my own versions. Definitely use a tracking software like voluum or something to optimize and that's about it besides hosting for LP's if I need that. Was going to get a month subscription to that forum "Stack that money" to see if I could scrape some useful tips outta there.

I definitely don't want to burn through 5k and come out with nothing I'd go in with a smarter approach.

Btw curious what your opinion on Charles Ngo is?

Never heard of him.
https://charlesngo.com/affiliate-marketing-course/ I'm not sponsoring him, but I did read this guide. Skim through it & let me know if you think it's got some relevant info in there. File is too large for me to upload here.

I was in the same boat as you and i came to the final result/conclusion that i would never fully learn or know 100% until i start trying it myself. Have the mindset that you know you are going to lose money at first, but you will gain data on your audience, and it's ultimately an investment. Once you start doing it yourself you will learn as you go, the fact that you did this much research and preparation already is a very good sign and I can guarantee you will eventually be successful with FB ads.

If you can, start with incorporating the pixel instead of the $300 tracking software.
I wouldn't pay for that forum as a starter, maybe wait until you get some first hand ad experience. There are many free facebook groups that share great knowledge as well. Watch some videos about detailed targeting and lowering your CPC, they explain a lot there.

Good luck.

Very great post with lots of clear solution in it. I really appreciate the effort of the members.
