Ignore the title, I just didn't know what else to title it. But the general concept remains the same.
I have posted on this forum once before I made some awesome friends because of it that were really helpful and am happy to say was able to hire someone to help me. And right now I am in more or less the same position again. For the record; I have high-functioning Aspergers. I don't normally make it a habit to go around telling random people that, but I'm not really ashamed of it either. The only reason I feel the need to say that now is because of the question I'm about to ask; it may seemingly come off as a stupid question to many people.. Especially those who do this kind of stuff professionally like many people on these forums do. And the question I have very well may have a simple answer. But again; that is why I felt the need to mention my condition, because it's just simply the way I have to go about doing things and the way I process information.
So I am seriously (not even kidding) willing to pay someone to just answer one or two questions for me. I'm very hands on, so I want to do it myself; I've Googled and researched it myself for a couple days now and just can't wrap my stupid little head around it. I'll pay $20 through whatever means; just for someone to answer the following couples of questions for me so I can do this thing myself. It's really only just a single question; but I've asked the question before and I was still lost; even given the answer... So I'm saying one or two questions just in case I need to ask a follow up question. The only condition is that you are able to explain this to me as you would to a child because my main problem here is that I have little to no experience with this kind of stuff.
Scenario; I bought a VPS hosting package in the Netherlands. (And they are great, with awesome 24/7 customer service and technical support; and I've tried asking them this but there seems to be a language barrier and they don't understand how little I actually know so they use words and terms I just don't get and expect me to already know how to employ this kind of stuff... Which I repeat.. I just don't know how.)
My VPS Hosting package comes with WHM and CPanel. Through this VPS Host I am creating a Wordpress website. I also purchased a theme which has it's own video player plugin. I want to create a sort of video tube style website (more or less). My video player plugin prompts me to input a direct video link. <-I understand this to a degree. Like for example; I could upload or use a Youtube video link and when I put that link in the player; it plays the video on my website when I post it. I get it.
My question is; through my VPS host; where do I upload a video from my computer and retrieve the direct link?
I researched this and I experimented. Like.. I uploaded a small video to my CPanel file manager. But I couldn't figure out or find where to get the direct link from it? I don't know if that's how I'm supposed to do it? But if it is, I don't know how to get the direct link I need from it.
That's my question! Given the circumstances; I just want to know... What is the best way/how do I use my VPS host to upload a video and get the link I need to put it on my Wordpress website.
I understand there are certain rules and regulations here so you can just inbox me if you would rather do that and we can arrange the payment thing. However you want to do it, Paypal or whatever. I don't care. I really appreciate the help in advance! Thank you.
