Student on journey for better life

Hopefully long journey to better life.

ABOUT ME:
I am a student and a programmer in 20's and I'm online more than half of my usual day. I am constantly finding and making small scripts and bots that automate my every day tasks and make my life easier.
I love coding and sharing. I've been on this forum for two days now, around 12 hours of reading different methods and ways to enter the IM world (grey area).

THE CHANGE:
First thing I decided to do, which is in process last ~24hrs is changing my employee mentality to entrepreneur mentality. By that I mean to slowly stop with freelance work, stop with trying to find a good job, and start making money. Methods are everywhere.

THE GOAL:
My goal is to have a constant, low risk, scalable passive income system. In order to achieve a "better life" that I was talking about in first paragraph I have 2 years MAX to build a solid scalable system that will bring me an income of 1000$+ per month and then grow.

THE IDEA:
1) Baby steps:
I have a lot of free time and 40$ on paypalthat I can invest.
2) Grinding a method:
Grinding a method for certain amount of time (could be months) that will make me enough money that I can then invest in my plan. Why? Because methods usually depend on many different factors and may not work in a year. So get money via quick methods to build a sustainable long term system. If I have to invest in these methods I am willing to invest up to 10$ for some trial memberships or some system that doesn't have high risk of failure, I need to profit of those 40$, not lose them.
3) The goal
Still thinking about it, needs more research but at the moment I am thinking about simple niche websites that I will promote via seo and social media and get paid by either adwords or affiliate programs via email. From my research I found that staying in email contact with your visitors that trust you with their email is better but old, but then old could be gold. Once I decide on what it's going to be, I will start working on bots and scripts for it while I'm grinding the money for it. Ideas are welcome.

-After spending ~4 hours on money making subforum, I visited my best friend Google to clarify some phrases. I read an article on "what the heck is seo ppc sem and ssm", clarified all of the phrases used here and learned bunch of new things.

So you can continue working as a freelancer / find a day job and invest a part of that money into this. As I see, most of the things fail due to lack of money in the primary stages.

I don't think you are quite right. I've read many cases where people started from 0$ and made it. I don't need any money to make a blog, to automate rephrasing and posting, giving out books, automating growth of social media accs with niche followers etc. And again, I have 2 years and I am planning on investing those 40 in method that will make me more money, not the 1k+ system, that's my end goal.
Even if I had a lot more money, I would still need a solid strategy on what to do with it. I saw what people told the poor guy that had 1k and quit his job.

Join affiliate network.. pick a Bing-friendly cpa offer
spend 2$ on .info domain on godaddy or something and redirect that to your affiliate link
Open legit Bing account with your credit card.. add 100$ bing coupon.
Let the account run the voucher to 0.. then cancel ad.
Perhaps you would have made some money ontop of your 38$ left... and reinvest that into something.

#UPDATE:
1) thinking of a good niche
2) buying a vps for 6 months for 7.5$ with 128MB ram, 15GB hdd, 500GB bandwith and a fully naked and sexy debian 7 on it. Absurdly cheap from the folks at buyvm and good enough for multiple static landing page websites for affiliate links.
I think it's a lot better to have a landing page so that I can do some ceo optimization, otherwise the ad would be the product itself with no good "bait"
3) buying some cheap ass domains
4) doing the bing thing (KUDOS TO @supereek)

So I'll try this as my first method most probably after I do a ton of research on what my folks over at 1st world countries but also bing users like to buy and I will have ~30$ left. Probably will go with ebay monthly statistics and get some affiliate deals according to those, or maybe it could better to do some content locking, I'll see...

expectations: at least 10$

I would like to hear some opinions if possible before I get the coupon tho.
