Yes, you're correct. That's why Google releases algorithm updates periodically.That's not the real issue though. There's lots of high ranking articles in certain niches with information that isn't accurate, so getting information from search engines isn't more than 99% accurate either.
The real issue is that, if people can get information without having to search for it themselves, why wouldn't they?
But if they rely on AI, they can't find out which is right and which is wrong. That's the main issue. In the event that they find and fix the bug in their next version, it may turn out worse. It will take months to train a new AI model, which is practically impossible but may become possible after 5 years or so.
