I work for a big company with loads of departments in India. The people who work there have daily contact with us from Europe and US.
You'd think they would copy the lingo after talking to british and american people. But no.
I can read long formal email threads between executives, customers and in other professional settings. Then in the middle of it all you see someone writing "nt" instead of "not", "k" instead of "ok", "wlcm" instead of "welcome". So it's hard to take this "dear"-business seriously when they mix it with some kind of SMS language between friends.
