After using 50 VPS and running for close to two weeks, below is my review.

Earnings are depreciating rapidly per post. Only a few post are getting BIG REVENUE. And it is not because these posts are well written or had a big following. The earnings for these selected post are large because the people who upvote consist of those that have high steem power.

Below is a brief summary of steem details:
1) Steem loses value over time
2) Steem Dollar (Backed by USD)
3) Steem power (locked down for 2 years before you can cash out, works like fixed saving deposit). The more steem power you have the more power you command over others earning through voting.

So my conclusion is this, small players won't get a chance to get much value in spending time and resources on this network unless you are willing to prepare to invest in steem power through bitcoins (You need at least 16,000 Steem power to see good influence and earnings.)

This network is not about how much quality or contents you post. It is about the ones with steem power who can upvote and determine your earning potential. Very similar to MLM Concept. If you plan to make serious money with this platform, it is important to form a network of high powered steem members and cross vote each others contents.
 
Ok more updates. All my accounts got loss due to hacking and some of the public pages are missing and showing below error. As you can see the constant circling of my profile despite being login. Seems like Steemit is very unsecure. You might be better off investing into otheer cryptocurrency. Too many issues with this platform. Earnings so far was around $1,400+ but do bear in mind that these are not absolute dollar terms. Seems like a big MLM scam to me as I need to drag more people to this platform and posting of contents before being able to get decent payout. This platform works when you get more and more people to join and upvote.

Definitely one of the most interesting concepts for a cryptocurrency we have seen.
Like the idea of mixing socials & rewards based on your ability to promote your content.

No cash out yet. In fact earnings have been dropping dramatically of late. And Steemit site keeps breaking down. My thought so far is to better spend the resources to mine than to post contents. Which is a waste of time to be honest since 90% of steem is rewarded to miner and remaining 10% shared among content provider and social actions (voting).
 
Hum....I have difficult to understand it.

How do u got money ? You write something smooth then what ?

I just can "spam" vote and got money ? It's seems really...Fishy ?

You cannot spam vote as only those with high steem power can influence earnings. Basically to get high steem power you will need to invest real cash aka via bitcoin. Operates exactly like how a MLM marketing Company would work. You can write and post whatever you want but if you do not have voters who are high steem powered, you would see pathetic earnings of less than $0.02 per post.

Yeah that what I though. I don't have cash to invest ATM so, I'll post time to time and see what happen. I vote earlier on "new post" for try to get something but well, I'll find another thing for make money

Voting on new post won't help much even if you chance upon post that goes viral. You need to have member who is high steem power to vote on your comment to see good earnings. Every once in a while you will see certain members making high earnings in their post or comments. Exactly like how a MLM Company would operate just to show that there is potential to earn. But no matter how hard you try, you would realize that the platform is not created equally.

The owner is very smart in creating the type of lottery winning illusion to get massive amount of traffics to the site. I think as of now the traffic has exceeded even Reddit. Traffics are driven by greed of the possibility to make money through posting 'quality' contents. Which is a big joke in itself as you can see some of the contents in trending are just simple "Hi". Most of the time you would be 'encourage' by other members to persist and post more 'unique and quality' contents. This helps Steemit with ranking their site due to large amount of new contents posted aka doing free SEO for steemit. By posting comments frequently through members usage, Google bot recognizes Steemit as an authority site thus ranking them even higher.

Apart from that, 90% of steem mined belongs to miner while 10% are shared amount members of steemit who post contents and participate in voting and commenting.

Probably a good idea to start a new thread in the crypto section as there are some knowledgable guys who should be able to help.

I don't know MLM Compagny since I didn't search yet for it is.

But yeah, people are drove by the wanting of "free money". Like I said, I'll post time to time and voting,it would not take more than 5min/day and whatsoever...

But I saw some post teaching how to mine STEEM, that, might be worth no?
 
im on it too and earned about 300$ .. and changed it to cryptos that around 100$ worth.
