Hello, BHW community! I hope you guys are all fine!
i want to start my first website I have learned enough about how to make a WordPress website ( themes, plugins, writing articles, etc.), and i know that this could be just the 10% important thing in a website. I want to learn more about SEO and how i can rank the articles after posting them and try to get traffic to my website. For that, I want to know if there's any roadmap i can follow to learn more about SEO in 2024. There is to many information in the web and it makes it kinda complicated since you dont know from where to start learning and where to end

yeah, there's too much information, so I guess that providing you with even more of it is not the way to go :D

you dont know from where to start learning and where to end
there's no end! SEO is a long term and ongoing process, if you undertake it you have to fully commit to doing it or it won't work

With regards to where to start, simply start by creating a website, publishing a few optimized articles (10-20) for starters, then creating a sitemap (xml version, not html) and submitting it to your GSC and see what google thinks of your site, then you could know what to do next...

But the important part in all of this is to get your keyword research right. If you fail at keyword research (and niche research implicitly) you could stare at your website and all of its ZERO traffic for years and not understand why you have no traffic :)

I'm not going to link you with any guides (since there's already too much information :p), but you can look them up on the forum whenever you want, plenty of keyword research guides have been shared over the years, probably 100s of them...

Oh, you will also need to get your site structure right, this has become paramount in modern SEO and if you don't have a clean, fast loading, well structured site from the get-go you might struggle to even crawl it, let alone index or rank it.

Start by researching and collecting the topics of your niche. Write articles regularly and after a few weeks, begin building some good backlinks or at least web 2.0 backlinks if you want something free.

That's exactly the kind of answer I was looking for. Thank you so much. so first key to actually building a website that can potentially grow requires good keyword and niche research. i will definitely take some time to do that before even starting to build the website

I was about to tag this link, as it's a pretty simple guide that elaborates clear blogging guidelines.
And yes! you get too much info on the web. That's the deal actually. You've to figure our what you need the most.
yes just saw it and it was so clear to be honest literally the kind of posts i needed thank you mate for mentioning it once again :)

Check ahref's youtube channel, the long videos are good starting points

if you wish to rank in google, yes. Otherwise you can do whatever you want with your site if google traffic is not your focus

Hey ayoubnadi! There already are some really useful tips given here! Since you're a beginner in SEO, I would highly reccomend Hubspot as a resource to get started. The SEO certification on Hubspot is particularly helpful to learn about the basics and build a good theoretical foundation to go off of. I would also give searchnginejournal a look. They have some great guides on different SEO strategies like competitor based submission, guest posting, etc. Hope this helps! Best of luck on ranking your new website, You got this!!!
