Note: Mods, if this does not belong here, please move to the appropriate forum. Thanks! :p

    Hello everyone,
I've been on BHW for a month now, and so far I haven't had much success with my site (http://health401k.com/) and Adsense. I've been writing articles and posting backlinks on websites such as Ezine and Associated Content. I've also bought some traffic on BHW to my site, which hasn't done much to Adsense earnings or page rank. I'm using Microsoft's OfficeLive tool for hosting and site editing (which may not be a good thing).

I'm just wondering if you all could give me some advice on what tools, eBooks, or services I should invest in. I don't have a lot to work with - less than $500.

Thanks a lot for the advice! Hopefully this thread will be good for noobs like me to learn how to start up.

Check the Adsense section of BHW and look through the downloads section for ideas, ebooks and tools related to the subject. Save your money to use for things like outsourcing articles and buying backlinks services (but be very sure you are getting a reputable backlinks service).

Also, what kind of content do you have?
EDIT: I looked at your site. So I can see what you are about. So, are you running affiliate offers for health insurance? How about putting some health insurance related PLR info together and create a PDF from it. Then offer it as a free report in return for an opt-in. That way, you are at least building a list.

Yeah, spending on ebooks is just waste of money when you can get it all for free. Maybe, you can start another website with the money you have to scale up things

Thanks for the updated info, Wiz! I'll look into that. Would Clickbank be a good option?

Also, I would like to make my site into a larger affiliate site. Maybe I could target more niches, I guess.

Basically, right now I'm just having trouble getting activity to the site.

Sure . . . You could sell health related digital products from Clickbank and and you can do some health-related products (digital and physical) from Amazon as well.

Try to think of the many different ways you can monetize your site. To get traffic to it, use some of the methods mentioned here on the forum. One way to generate more visitors is to create that free PDF and join various health-related forums and offer your free PDF. Have them opt-in to get it (this will build your mailing list). Then, inside of your PDF, you could have some useful info, plus "Recommended Products", which, of course would be your affiliate links. Start getting crafty, ambitious and aggressive and you will do well.
