Starting a "better" onlyfans

My business partner and I are starting a better alternative than only fans with loads of extra features without confusing the user and making it more intuitive. My problem is how are we gonna make people switch to our platform, marketing, legality, etc? I need your opinions on this about starting another platform similar to Onlyfans.

What are the better features? You need to convince the Onlyfans creators that your platform has better QOL features with optimised UX or that it’s more beneficial financially for them. You also need a marketing strategy that encourages referrals or something which utilises their own audiences.

Bro if you have 5 years and a couple M's for sure try it.
But i don't think it'll be as easy as you think it will, simps are on OF because they trust the website with privacy and payment. It's also extremely hard wired into people, they have had solid competitors for years now. Fansly, mym. Doesn't work, they're too big.
OF founder who sold OF a little too early is building a new OF like platform and recruiting girls to make the switch...
Honestly not trying to be the guy who downplays, but not gonna happen.

Yeah you'll be fighting an insane uphill battle in my opinion. It'll be very hard to convince people to make the switch

Payments are also fucked, you won't be able to use Stripe as they do, so you'll have to find some good alternative. Also OF didn't succeed just like that out of the blue, the founder sold 75% of the company to a man who had decades of experience in adult industry, bunch of money and connections. Stokely sold a 75 percent stake in OnlyFans' parent company Fenix International to Leonid Radvinsky in 2018.

You will need an insane marketing budget for making the big OF influencers to shift to your platform.

Are these extra features so worth, that they will make the switch?

Even the competing platforms have budgets of millions and millions and aren't close, the only one close is Fansly and even then, it doesn't convert as well as "OnlyFans". Simply the name OnlyFans boosts conversions over basically every other alt platform.

OF is also a brand in itself, it's trusted by everyone, they have a good reputation and history, it's an ecosystem which feeds and grows itself.

Unless you already have contacts in the adult industry and a big budget, you're just going to be relying on luck. You might see some results, but you would never be known as an "Alternative OnlyFans" unless you spend a long time growing it, a big budget, and you know the right people.

Many people have had this idea before, almost all of them gave up after trying it for a while.

You will also need a very good legal team, that goes without saying. You need good screening and verification process, you need to register and go public (nobody is trusting an unknown unregistered company/person in this industry), there is a whole mountain of things that is needed.

My advice is, if you need to ask this question, you are not ready to make it. You would be better off to spend time learning the OF ecosystem and networking until you are well-prepared and positioned well enough to make it.

Clearly define what makes your platform better than OnlyFans. You can consider features like enhanced user experience, better revenue sharing

You will need to make a strong marketing campaign. If people don't know about your website, they won't replace OnlyFans for your alternative

I've been running OFM for 3 years, i know it top to bottom here's what's missing on the platform :

- It's not hardcore / kink friendly (content that involves the hardcore kinks gets banned) fisting, pee, hardcore domination etc
- There's a 7-21 day wait period before withdrawing the money (someone pays, u wait 7 days or 21 days in the case of LATAM models before u can withdraw the money)
Honestly if you are able to get a lot of users on ur platform and you fix this waiting period i will personally put all my models on
- 20% OF cut, a fan pays 100$ gross you get 80$ net after the onlyfans commission.
- You can't directly withdraw to crypto addy you need a bank account in the name of the model (Cosmo, Skrill, Paxum) withdraw it there and then you can withdraw from those to your crypto addy, and you lose another 5-10% in transaction fees, until the money arrives in your bank.
- If you withdraw to a Wise account or Revolut account, without going through the ones i listed above the bank gets banned and most of the time with all the money still inside

Now here's the thing the N1 competitor is Fansly, they have fixed all of the problems i've listed above. And you wanna know what?
I had a creator this year, we pulled her up to 10k$/month and she was ranked 0,01% of creators on fansly.
For comparison
In order to be in 0,01% on OF you need to make 110k$/month

The user base and social proof of OF is crazy.

What i would suggest you do is, launch a tube site. Own everything , and funnel to OF on your models to make money.
It's a better use of your time and efforts.
Don't go chasing a goal that's unrealistic you'll burn out before any results.
Now if you become a billionaire, and you have the firepower to go against OF i'll back you up personally.

To get people to switch, focus on influencer partnerships and creating buzz on social platforms, as for legality, get a lawyer to make sure everything's compliant from the start don't skip that!

Also, to make a business like OF you need to be one of those connected types, just check who's the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonid_Radvinsky of OF is and you will know what you are missing to be successful.

In short, OF is billing for 3rd parties and to get card payments for that will be impossible for you.

yup, noted on that

The reason OF was able to get off the ground was because it was the right time with the right people. There were 4 business partners. One had the money, another had the adult traffic, the third had the girls (who were top pornstars at the time of founding) and the last had the programming skills. Also it didn't hurt that 2 of the 4 partners were well known within the adult industry at the time.

About 6 months after it's launch JustforFans came along along with other competitors. Nobody has really been able to compete.|

On top of this, trying to create anything new in adult right now is kind of in the air due to all of the censorship going on. And Visa/Mastercard just launched new compliance rules last year and are likely going to come out with more as age verification and censorship becomes encoded in law.

Whatever comes out next needs to be different. And it's going to come from someone when the time is right and they have the resources to do it.

That was insightful thanks a lot. So far we have raised 500k for seed capital. Those features I mentioned will just make it easier for the user and especially for the models to in a way find each other or the user can curate their taste. There are loads of more features I can't say in the case of fansly copies haha. I will get back to you once it's built or nearing completion and I'd love to connect with you and your thoughts or even right now on what else things could be improved especially on the models side or on the agency side I'd love to hear.

This is the main part now, how to get models on your platform. Creating platform is simple, get models and clients that will trust and pay are another level.

You're right, connections do play a major role and I believe I got that down already with my partner and the people involved. What do you think of and what other similar platforms will do once that visa/MasterCard new law passes how will they get around that?

We all know whats gonna be next. It's gonna be AI girlfriends put into a robot, problably a functional head first, then with body. Onlyfans is dying, go anywhere in public and say you subscribed to an Onlyfans whore, you will get shamed as a simp for it (which is true).
