Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well.

Now, I don't feel the need to start many threads, most information I need has already been posted. However, today has slapped me in the face with something that I just cannot shake. Or fix, for that matter. I've come to the lounge because my situation is a bit too complicated to just fall under one section. However, before I get into things, I'd like to make a request: If you're just going to make a twunt of yourself, refrain from commenting. I've shown a lot of respect around here since I've become a member, so I'm asking for a bit of that back today. That's directed towards just SOME of you, by far not all. Thank you.

    Rant Sequence Initiate

I started my first website in August, and after playing the trial and error game with numerous networks and methods, I was finally approved for Adsense about three weeks ago. Which was huge for me. Not only because it they are the best known and highest paying, but because it made me feel like I have a worthy site and allowed me to write freely instead of pitching a product in each article. Maybe it was because they declined my application a dozen times or because Adsense is what all the 'cool kids use', but I felt like my site was finally good enough. Petty, I know, but it did give me a much needed boost of confidence.

However today, I was slapped in the face with a disabled account due to invalid activity, which I think we're all aware of and please, hold any assumptions. At 7:30 am today, I had made around $20. Then at about 9 am, I couldn't access my account anymore. My problem here though, is that I haven't clicked my own ads once, nor have I 'encouraged' any clicks or impressions from others. I've been promoting my writing just as I always have. My own social media accounts, aggregators, and word of mouth, nothing else. The worst I've done with this site is buy around 100 sh*tty crork backlinks when I was starting out. But that wouldn't justify an account being disabled when the links were created before the account was even approved.

So after doing as much investigating as I know to do, the only oddity that I can find is in my traffic, yet it still doesn't quite satisfy this disgruntled mind. My site, being based primarily around my local business and freelance services, doesn't get a whole lot of people that need to use crappy proxy services to access it. However last night and this morning, I received a few hundred visits from people using various proxies. In fact, the referrer even shows which services they used. All free, all European (my business is in the u.s.), and none of which hid the fact that it was a proxy. I'm really not too sure how to interpret this though. In the five or so months that my site has been in existence, only twenty or so visits have been from proxies like this. So why all of the sudden? And could that be why my account was shut down? I just can't find any other variables that are out of place. Since I can't access Adsense, I can't even tell if the bastards clicked anything. All I know, is that when you see hundreds of people coming from a proxies, it looks paid for. And believe me or not, I do not need to pay for my traffic. My writing takes care of that for me.

Either way, I've lost $400 bucks and three weeks of my ad space, to Adsense. All in one morning. I filled out my appeal form, but I don't really have any hope for that. From what I've read, in a case like this, they simply won't work with me. So, needless to say, I'm f*cking frustrated. But hey, I've heard similar stories and how others have moved on, so I will do the same. Even if it kills me.

    Rant Sequence Complete

So guys and gals, here are my quandaries:

    • Do you think I have any hope of appealing my disabled account?
    • Is there any way to look further into what happened?
    • Will a disabled Adsense account have any effect on my rankings? Do they hold a grudge?
    • Should I return to Shareasale and Cj or find another PPC network?
    • Which PPC's are comparable to Adsense? Pay and quality of ads. No chitika bs, and I'm not paying anyone to promote their products.
    • Lastly, does my avatar make me look fat..? (as I force an unwilling smile onto my face)

Any help or advice would be much appreciated. You all are simply the best around. Black, white, gray, khaki, whatever. I couldn't have done any of this without you. So thanks everyone. I'll be back on in the morning to see your replies.

    Sincerely yours,

    Dadangle

I had my adsense account disabled years ago too, there are many more options out there. I will be surprised if you manage to get your account re-instated. I would say bite the bullet and move on, you'll start earning a lot sooner and witha lot less stress.

Enabled AdSense has an effect on your rankings (site renders slower). Otherwise, there is no difference.

media.net is a good alternative, but they are picky.

CPA is even better alternative both money-wise and business model-wise. AdSense = gambling IMHO.

And wine! At least that's how it was for me when I spent about a month at the Università di Roma (Sapienza) last summer...

Adsense lesson #1 : you can't trick Google and monetize via Google. That's not gonna work.

Thanks guys. After I posted that last night, I took some of your advice without even knowing it. Drank my favorite scotch and ate good food until I was pretty much in a coma. Gotta love how we all can relax in the same ways, no matter where we are.

This morning, I also applied for media.net along with a few others that are spoken highly of around here. I haven't made any decision yet, but I will say that my website looks and loads a lot better without those Adsense ads. So I don't miss em' one bit, that's for sure.

Thanks again for the help everyone. I wish you all the best. Happy holidays.

Treat Adsense like it is a corpse now. It indeed is -- for you, just like it is and was for a lot of us! It will never get another life and wake up for you. Bury it, sink it, scr3w it, do whatever... and get over the loss. Life is a lot beautiful on this side without it. Down the time, may be in a month or so, you'll laugh at how much you were mourning its death. And don't go begging at Google's feet for its rejuvination. It won't happen in 99.9999999% cases. I'm sorry for the loss lol, but you can see lots of people around you who have moved on and have earned better things in life without the company of that virtual b1tch.

You'll soon find something else to run after! :) Don't worry... Cheers! :D

Yeah, just move on, many of us have had Adsense accounts banned in the past and there are many other ways to monetize a site.

My preferred method of making money is affiliate programs, and more than one, five main ones and up to 100 other affiliate programs. I do not see why people keep fannying round with Google Adsense and all those shit programs that ban simply for the reason that they can ban you. It is bad enough dealing with Google updates, never mind having another problem in your way.

Lol have you ever thought about being an inner city youth counselor? That was the funniest, harshest, and the most true way to put it. Thanks mate, I needed that. And thanks W130SN, it's definitely nice to know that I'm not alone here.

Lol. That sense comes automatically, especially when one has suffered similar disasters in life and you look around for a assuring father- figure to run to, a soothing word you want to hear to, a warm hug you long for... And you find none... Then much later in life, you know there is someone out there, unknown and equally alone and hurt as much... who would love to have those things spoken to, and you move in to provide that assurance, the warmth, that hug... It makes real difference, doesn't it? :)

It absolutely does make the difference mate. Being the habitual loner that I am (and mighty proud of it), I don't always get the pat on the back that I need. Growing up the way I did, hugs and soothing words were few and far between, so I learned to do without. But when I come here, and the experienced ones, like yourself, are so willing to help complete strangers get through their tough times, it gives me hope for our species. We are probably half a world away from one another, yet I felt that pat on my back. Powerful stuff.

    Long Live BHW
