Spammy links from hacked sites with scraped content

I am having a bit of a hard time with seo nowdays on my ecommerce site. As I looked through my backlinks, I am finding an absolute flood of spammy backlinks.
I possibly can rule out a negative attack, because its not just for my site, but for a lot of competitors and other ecommerce site from different niches too.

The links are from hacked sites, but when i got the chance to look at it, as it appears in Ahrefs or in MOZ, they are mostly gone. Or cloaked a way that i dont see the content even in the source code.
The anchors or the links are my product names. Some of them i saw, and there is content that copied my product description with a link to my site, next to a ton of other ecommerce stores too.



It looks like someone scraped a lot of ecommerce content, and products, packed together, and uploaded to a hacked site, and cloaked it from seeing by me or anyone except google ahrefs etc...

Two questions related to the topic:
1, Can someone explain why someone is doing this? I have no idea what they are trying to achieve with scraped content and a bunch of links on hacked sites...
2, How can i prevent someone doing this in the future? I will send a disavow to be sure, but i have no idea google is using them or not anymore.

Do these urls end in -k.html by any chance? If so they've been brought up quite often before, the general consensus is that they're doorway pages created from scraped content, and pretty much any site with semi-decent ranks will have them linking to them. https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/wtf-are-these-spammy-links-ending-in-k-html.1492143/

For your questions - 1) They're trying the shotgun approach to spamming Google - creating thousands/millions of pages of scraped content with a view to rank for longtails. If a searcher clicks on any of these results via a Google search they're redirected to affiliate offers via a smartlink.
2) It's probably not worth the hassle in trying to find what IPs they're using to scrape, trying to 'protect' your content etc. You'll find most successful sites have these links, they're just part of the flotsam and jetsam of the web.

Since it's a mass attack, wait for a while before you disavow those links
Google has filters for these and occasionally, they do work
