    Hey, I have a website running on wordpress (not blog) and I have problem with spam users.
    There are a lot of spam users joining each day, so I need some plugin for wordpress or some tool, which will stop them from creating accounts on my site.

    Do you need people to register at all? If not just un-tick the "anyone can register" option.

    Akismet works for what you need, and is pretty much standard on wordpress, so that works.

    But as scrapefox said, why not just remove the ability to register? Or don't make registration automatic?

    All the above answers work but if you could give us more information we could give you a better advice.

    Thank you

    P.S. use a captcha for registration
    or a email confirmation

    Either simply disable the user registration, or provide them with a CAPTCHA in the registration form. For CAPTCHA, you need a complex solution like recaptcha library etc.. Don't go for those 10+1 = ? type of CAPTCHAs..
    If you still have problem, start banning IP ranges..

    Edit the url of your login page so that it is not the typical /wp-login.php

    You can edit the htaccess to prevent spam if a lot of the spammers use proxies or no referrer.

    Ask me if you want the code and i will pop it up here.

    Worked for me, and stopped 90% of all spam that askimet missed.

    Another vote for Akismet. I bought a site and it came with what seemed to be a popualtion of spammers offering to fix problems with the site, lol. Uninstalling a few plug ins fixed the problems with the site and Akismet fixed the spammers.

    Adding Captcha can reduce the spam .. and adding a email confirmation should eliminate all spam ..

    Here you go. Be warned backup your htaccess first before making any changes.
    Also on top of that you may well have to modify what I give you below as i have no idea what your current htaccess contains.

    I have taken the liberty of adding caching methods using htaccess as well so this will help your website as well.
    Code:
    #This is the header part added by wordpress, skip adding this in your htaccess if you already have it in there
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>
    #END

    # start Protect wp-config file from hackers
    #<files wp-config.php>
    #Order deny,allow
    #deny from all</files>
    # end Protect wp-config file from hackers

    # BEGIN FORCE USE OF BROWSER CACHE
    FileETag MTime Size
    <ifmodule mod_expires.c>
      <filesmatch "\.(jpg|gif|png|css|js|ico|jpeg|swf)$">
           ExpiresActive on
           ExpiresDefault "access plus 1 year"
       </filesmatch>
    </ifmodule>
    #END FORCE USE OF BROWSER CACHE

    Akismet is what you'll want.

    You can also add another level and add recaptcha as well, pretty sure there are a few plugins that do that. Between both of those you'll never have a problem.
