A few thoughts
1) We don't see the referring domains/pages thus we don't know their quality; Chance that some (lots?) of them are pretty good AND acquired by spending (lots?) of money and/or time. Why don't you share the domains report?
2) This is gonna be fixed sooner or later. I had a website in financial (!) area looooong time ago, it had lots of nice traffic and my strategy was just a tricky SEO spam, and it all was awesome till it dropped out of first SERPs after another Google update.
3) If you just start spamming everywhere, big chance it just won't work. The strategy, even if it works now, is most likely not super straightforward.
4) Survivorship bias - there's literally tons of people spamming but only a few succeed.
5) The websites who even succeed, may be just buying lots of real human visitors, or having Youtube channels, or other SMM platforms; So Google actually sees good behavioral factors and it helps getting into the top.
With all that being said. Does SEO spam works? Well, yes, sometimes (rarely). Would it work for YOU? Well, probably no :) So if someone thinks "ok I'm gonna spam everywhere and wake up rich" - no, you're most likely gonna spend time and money and get nothing. Not saying it's impossible but you gotta be realistic

2) Maybe it will get fixed, but for a fact most have been running for over a year with no traffic drop - it made them millions of $$$.

I will gather more data on monday/tuesday and publish them here, like who.is, wayback machine, date of articles, how many and when were posted, backlinks etc. etc. and list of questions that need to be answered to figure out what they are doing.

If the owner is here just let me know and I will omit any info you want.

Any idea how that many backlinks are created? Its seems little absurb that there is 2.69M backlinks in 1.07K domains or 2.8M in 2.86K domains...
fiverr? gsa ser? there’s tons of link services out there and different methods of arranging the links (wheels, pyramids etc) and don’t forget the ole’ 301 redirect so spam links never directly touch the money page.

PLEASE DON"T, don't give G any more ideas, what you do or wanted to to is bad to all of us, I was had to be like this jealous at others success even report to G spam control against my competitors, the result I lost everything even my backup money site were lost, because all my negative SEO attitude, BTW I did that because one of my competitors threat to report on my website and he did, as result I report on every website in the my niche SERP and give G gold opportunity to wipe them from the earth ,, BTW even that guy website were wiped-out

I recently bought 200k+ shit backlinks just to play with my competitors.
And it works.
Haha.
just a few questions, if you don’t mind..

did u drip feed them? did it push u forward on SERPs a few pages or just a spot or a few? page 1 lol?
