So the past couple of months, a few of my accounts' reach have been wayyyy lower than normal and I found out that IG shadowbanned some of my posts...but not all of them. I finally ran some tests to figure out what caused the shadowban and I'm pretty sure I figured it out. At first, I thought it was certain hashtags or the number of hashtags on the post, but that wasn't it. I then thought maybe it would be the text or emojis posted and that wasn't the case either. So then I did some experimenting with the video post thumbnail and eureka that was it! I manage a cam site account so if the post thumbnail was of a girl's body, it was shadowbanned but if it was her face then it wasn't.

Proof:
I posted two of the same videos on both accounts I've been having issues with.

As long as you're not following the account you can see by searching tags the only one with the face shows...

IG love faces... always use a Face if you can on any video thumbnail, you will notice the difference ;).

IG have a very good photo recognition system, they know what is on the photo, they also know if it's unique or no.
