Something I Don't Understand About 2.0 Pyramids

So to play devil's advocate, for my own learning purposes, if i couldn't build PBN or Guest post links, what would i do?

Learn how to do it. Or outsource it at your own risk.

Ok. What i'm getting at is, can you link me to something that will teach me how to do it, rather than the old threads that i'm reading.

I know about SEO guides on BHW as much as you do mate, so I am sure you will be able to find some dated in 2016. :)

Go to google:

site:blackhatworld.com seo guide 2016

That's a guide from my good friend, which is a tad outdated, but definitely one of the best ones around. Remember, that web 2.0s are merely a basis. Nothing else. It's a foundation. The real firepower comes from PBNs and guest posts.

Is there a cost effective way to get PBN links?
They tend to be very costly.

Mate, if you don't have a budget of at least a few K, don't do SEO. Best advice you will get here all day.

Lol. I can spend a few K as long as I see it coming back at some point. I don't really fancy wasting it.
I'm targeting the casino industry which is a little oversaturated, and so i'm only targeting KW's with about 500 monthly searches at the moment. Should I really be spending hundreds to rank for those theoretically not too hard terms?

You will be lucky if you spend just hundreds lol.

I'm starting to think that you're trying to get me to quit :).
Give me some sort of positive recommendation please. Help me make, and not blow, my money.

You're competition is more important to look at than your monthly searches. But assuming the competition is low, no. On my current project I'm ranked 56th on a low competition KW with 10,000 monthly searches. I've only invested $60. The way it's been climbing I don't think I'll have to put in more than another $100. So no, you don't need a huge budget for low competition.

And do you agree that you need to use PBN's and guest posts, and that the old 2.0 method is dead?

You can be sure that the keyword either doesn't have 10K search volume or the commercial intent there is minimal, thus the low competition. But it's quite a difference between #56 and top 3. :)

Still, I am out of this thread, I helped you more than you are willing to take into account. You chose to believe whatever makes you feel more comfortable, rather than accept how things are. But you will see that in the upcoming months.

I'm listening to everything that you are saying. I'm just getting a bit of a sense of doom and gloom. A lot of what i'm doing wrong and what not to do, and not a lot of how to put it right.

You should be calculating how much a keyword is worth to you before starting seo, then you can estimate how much you'll need to spend to rank it and decide if its worth ranking or not

In a sense the old 2.0 method is dead but web 2.0s are still a crucial component to link building. Just not hundreds of them. The idea is to create a handful of web 2.0s but make them high quality. Handwritten lengthy content, images, multiple pages, updated periodically with new content. Then you juice them up with tier 2 and 3 links. 25 Web 2.0s on the top platforms is more than enough for most keywords. I'm currently using 10. However, PBN's and Guest Posting are still king in SEO and probably will be for a long time. But you don't always need premium high price PBN posts to rank. You can get cheap, somewhat risky PBNs and run them through your 2.0s. Or you can make your own PBN. Takes some time but once it's built you have your own PBN that nobody is posting on but you. There's multiple guides here on how to create a PBN.

Depends what you mean by commercial intent but the search volume is definitely accurate. There's no good way to sell a product through my keyword but that's fine because I don't sell products to my traffic. I sell my traffic :)

It seems like you're hearing news you don't want to hear, so you keep on pushing until you get more positive news.

Not likely to happen. Some niches require more money to rank, and require a decent PBN to rank. Gambling and Adult are two such niches.

No one wants to link to gambling (or adult) sites, so you have to create your own decent links (or rely on paid advertising, but that's for direct traffic, not ranking).

Creating a decent PBN can't be done with free web 2.0 sites. Yeah, a few of them might help a little, but they don't have any real power. You need to get good expired domains, or buy domains at auction. Either way, you need several, and you need to set them up decently. It costs money. No way around it. I've done it with adult, and it works (but costs money). I've never done SEO for gambling, but I know people who have, and they say the same thing - spend a good bit of money on SEO, or spend a good bit of money on paid ads.

That's just how it goes with some niches.

So you believe that if google de indexes a page it still credits the flow of juice?
Don't forget that it's google that attributes the juice in the first place!
no i dont,
its different between penalized and deindex.
deindex is kind of penalized,
but penalized is not always deindex.

Ok not to hijack the thread or anything but I'm getting ready to dive in and start doing my own offsite SEO as opposed to buying links. I know SEO is constantly changing and there shouldn't be a set strategy. However, isn't a good way to go about ranking for easy keywords somethings along the lines of ...

GSA Blast (as tier 2) ----> Quality Web 2.0's ( manually built tier 1) -----> Money site

Again I'm no expert but that's basically what I've been reading. What do you think?
