Something happened with instagram.

I tried to grow my instagram with follow / unfollow on May 2016. At the beginning I started following way to many people, so finally on July 2016 instagram deactivated my account. I didn't know what to do but I used a feature "my account was hacked" and somehow after a week I got my instagram account back. From then I tried to follow / unfollow again and again. I also used some 200 $ for instagram advertisement (promoting and using power editor to give ad on instagram).

Somehow, my account is not growing at all now. Although I managed to grow till 14.9k followers, my account is dead without follow/unfollow or any ad. I haven't seen any organic growth, also , other accounts in my niche have 50 to 100 growth everyday , while I suffer to grow even with 3 followers a day. Help me! Will I ever see organic growth in near future, or is my account permanently throttled.

It is possible you have been shadowbanned. However tell me your methods of building your acc and maybe I can give you better information.

Are you posting daily, using hashtags, following the right accounts, also liking and commenting on those accounts photos etc.

It has been a year. All I did was follow/unfollow and used instagram ads, and yeah of course I use hashtags but they aren't helping at all. All I needed was organic growth. I like and comment sometimes.

It is possible you have been shadow banned however I think that the way the Instagram algorithm works it simply won't show your posts and page to that many people.
It also depends on how popular or non-popular your niche is.

How many people were you following/unfollowing to get banned?

What bot was it?

That guy again, I saw his post on reddit today. He doesn't understand that follow/unfollow won't do anything in the long run but push your numbers, it is by no chance any way to grow a good organic user base. In my opinion there's no other way than genuine interaction.

Yeah, that's not true. I'm in the fitness niche. My bot only targets people that have commented or liked things in my niche. So when they get a follow from me and they visit my page. They look at my pictures and it is interesting to them so they follow me back. Anytime they see one of my photos of something i already know they are interested in I'm more likely to get a like. My engagement is still relatively high using this method.

To argue on the other side of the coin, are you going to get better result doing this manually, yes. The bot can't tell if a person that commented is just someones mom who isnt really interested in the niche but wanted to say something nice to her son. But the vast majority of the people the bot gets are interested. If you want to spend hours a day of your life getting the perfect followers, then do it manually. If you dont mind that 90% of the followers are actually niche related then spend 15 minutes setting up the bot.

If you just follow people blindly then yes. You're engagement is going to suffer as your followers continue to grow.

Genuine interaction is probably the best way but I dont have time to comment on a million peoples photos hoping they will follow me.

The thing is that account needs to grow, and if there is no organic growth then that's the only way. Always keep in mind that there are people who are interested in your niche, just search them in your relative niche and follow comments or like ; they are the ones who have less followers but following too many. I only asked here because Reddit community didn't help me. Thank you.

No bot. All manual. I got drunk that time and followed more than 800 people manually

it's seems that you are shadow banned or you followed botted account.

You should focus on your content, maximize videos, ig pods, and ig story.
I also suggest use a instagram bot on follow/unfollow so you can scrape more active followers on your niche
