Hello BHW

I just I recieved an email from someone claiming my site has copyright images and if I don't remove them they will file a lawsuit under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and may be fined upto to $150,000.

It was sent from a @yahoo email and when I tried to reply to the email it bounced!

The email contains a link too.

I uploaded an image of the email I recieved below:

Any chance this is real or should I just ignore it?

I'm not from the US by the way.

Advertise on BHW
type in the links provided in a different browser than what you are using - I use Opera for that purpose. Don't click on the links as that might be malware or ransomware. Backtrack the information and see if it is theirs or if they have taken it from somewhere else. Odds are she is trying to scam you.

Sorry for shouting, but they will hijack your google account if you have that open too.

I watched a video from a youtube scammer exposer the other day, and he was showing this technique
 
It's genuine , attempt to eliminate the image for the copyright security

The links goes to a blank site. I made a mistake and pressed :(

Ye, looks as he hijack you. Scan and clean your PC and change your google password.

Not only the email they can even hijack your pc or steal some valuable data. It's better to change all of the account's passwords using a different pc and reinstall OS

It was on the phone. I guess we need to format the phone.
 
The best will be factory restore, but I think they are targeting PCs, so I'm not sure how much he can steal when you visit using a phone. Maybe only passwords..
