Some questions about SEO in late 2013

Hey! Been away from niche sites for some time now and I got a few questions regarding all the Google updates. I will try to keep it short.

Is is still wise to buy high PR backlinks via fiverr or what to you recommend for backlinks? Are backlinks even an essential factor these days or has the on page SEO become much more important than anything else?

This gets thrown around a lot that Google doesn't punish you for low quality backlinks if you have a Adwords campaign running for the site, like are the low quality backlinks still packing in punches and boosting SEO?

Never bought them from Fiverr, but yes strong back links are the core of ranking. On page is important as well, and you should avoid duplicate content across your site. Social has grown to probably show the most value in making your profile look natural and boost rank.

Recently lots of people got slapped. I think quality is defined differently by different people, but throwing links out there on any and every place you can with a new site will get you in hot water at some point. Also it depends on the type of niche you are targeting. If it is a churn and burn then spammy links can work well for a time. If you are going for long term sustainability then you have to be extra careful what you do.

On page SEO is very important, and so is building powerful backlinks. You can buy high PR links from Fiverr, but be sure to review the sellers' ratings and avoid gigs that sell PR 9 backlinks for $5 or similar types of gigs.

Your rankings will still tank if your site gets fished out as a low quality site based on it's link profile or content even if you are running an Adwords campaign. So avoid 'em low quality links. If you want to know which backlinks are best to keep your site off Google's radar, use the search function.

I would not buy really anything from Fiverr, other than those funny videos that people do. All of the "SEO" stuff on there, really isn't worth even $5.

Are back links still an essential factor in ranking a site? Yes! Good quality back links is still the foundation of building an authoritative and good ranking site and should be the first thing you focus on. As far as purchasing links, I would never suggest to anyone that they buy back links from Fiverr as most of the links offered there are of low quality. It would be my suggestion that you search the BST here and look for a good seller with good reviews and if you're looking for high quality links (If budget isn't an issue) than I'd suggest using a Private Blog Network.
