What would happened if you used a social sharing tool to add a bunch of friends then send them all to your site? How would this impact the site aside from getting more traffic? Would there be any negative effects? If so what would they be?

Sending them to a website is usually safe. Unless it's a landing page with CPA offer.

This thread is from Newbie and it got 3 Thanks from Newbies?

Nothing negative effect will happen, as long as your landing pages are to get traffic statfs only.
But be sure to build organic traffic.
Social media is good platform for farming organic traffic.

How many? For higher traffic you'll need stronger server.

From SEO perspective it would have no effect unless the server is down for too long.

As far as I know there would not be any negative effects on the site but having said that you would want to increase engagements as well and not just the traffic because in order to have constant viewer flow, you should have organic followers who are truly interested in your site. Sending a bunch of friends to the site will just help you temporarily.

I think there is no negative effect.

There is No negative Impact. Google Doesn't know that you people are friends. Even it does there is nothing to worry about. It is all links and traffic to google algorithm. Genuine traffic is Traffic.
